Hi neighbour! I live about 45 minutes south of Ottawa. I don't know of any groups specific to sleep apnea but I have the number for the Sleep/Wake Disorders of Canada group based in Ottawa: (613) 828-2522. Perhaps they could give you more information from there. I think we could start our own group....

Before CPAP therapy I was a mouth breather but as soon as I started the CPAP I quickly adjusted to sleeping a closed mouth. I use the Comfort Curve without any need for a chin strap. The air vacuum sensation I get when I try to mouth-breathe with the mask on is such a weird feeling that it's far mor...

I found the Comfort Curve to be head and shoulders above the rest of the 5 masks I tried. I've been using it for about 11 weeks now with no problems except occasional minor leaks when side sleeping, for which my Remstar Auto adjusts. But everyone is different. It would be best to get it on a trial b...

Derek
It sounds like the 300 powerpack would not be powerful enough. It might be better to hold off and wait until I can get a 400 or higher power pack. I could probably wait until the summer to get one. Meanwhile I'll watch for sales.

My poor non-techie brain is sore from trying to understand all this. If someone can provide a simple answer to these questions I'd be very grateful. I don't yet have a back-up system for my Remstar Auto CPAP machine but there's currently a sale on at my local Canadian Tire offering a Powerpack 300 b...

This does sound a little complicated. I'm not clear on how the shoelaces are creating a better seal. Is it to flatten out the interface (to get a better seal)?

I'm in the minority opinion here but compared to all the other masks I've tried I love my Comfort Curve! I get a better seal by using make-up sponges under the cheek pads. But every face is different. Would your supplier allow you to use it on a trial basis? Some suppliers have a good return policy....

I went through the same 1 through 7 steps that Scotty went through. Except that before step one I went through 8 months of testing to try to figure out what was causing my fatigue. I ended up diagnosing myself from a questionnaire on a sleep disorders site on the internet and presenting my doctor wi...

Oh, I can really relate to the 'brain fog.' Before my diagnosis I drifted around for a year forgetting details and not being able to organize my way out of a paper bag. I noticed an improvement right from the first night on CPAP, but I continued to need my power naps at mid-day for about 5 weeks. No...

SoLi Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been going along thinking that this is a permanent condition and I will be on CPAP for the rest of my life. It gives me some hope that maybe this isn't a life sentence for all of us. ~ OTB _________________ CPAPopedia Keywords Contained In This Post (Cli...

Hi neighbour! I live near Ottawa, Ontario. You can look up the Ontario government's Assistive Devices Program on the internet under the Ontario Ministry of Health. The government pays something like $780 toward your CPAP machine if you have a sleep specialist doctor's prescription. The staff at the ...

I too have a small face and have found good success using the Comfort Curve mask. (Note: not everyone is happy with this mask. You can do a subject search on it and see the various views from members of this forum). I found that when I used wedge-shaped make-up sponges under the cheek pads of this m...

I'm breaking ranks here by sticking up for my Comfort Curve. There's been a lot of mixed reviews on this mask but I love it. 1. I use the Comfort Curve 2. I like the unobstructed visual field for reading. It's also very comfortable, no red marks on nose, no skin irritation on sensitive skin. It feel...
