Re: What to do when you drop that weight?
OP congrats on your weight loss. I was 194lbs when I started cpap treatment. Getting better sleep and not being tired all day has helped me start to exercise. I have now dropped to 174lbs and even competed in a duathlon. Something I would never of had the energy to train for before cpap. I am going ...

My average AHI is about 11 or 12. at night. and 2.1 in the day. I'm not sure if the numbers so important anyway (or maybe my machines reporting it wrongly) , because even with that I feel 100 times better than I did. At my sleep test I had 100 odd OA's and almost 0 Hypopnea's. With my autopap machin...

Re: flying with cpap
I am also concerned about damaging the machine with all the moving around, and the need for extension cords and converters (European destination). You'll be fine in Europe with the power, no conversion needed as your machine will deal with it; from the spec:Range 100-240V AC. As for a plug adapter,...

I was having problems with mouth breathing. I found sticking my tongue between my teeth has stopped it. It took 2 or 3 days to get my tongue to stay there at night , but now I find even in the day I am doing it and breathing through my nose, which i never did before cpap. As for the beard I can't he...

I haven't made anywhere near as many posts as you have, but since I started my cpap I have been reading the forum. I can fully understand what you mean. My wife said I was becoming obsessed with mask and the machine. I was starting to get wound up by everything around me reading too much to try to g...

Thank you for your responses, rested gal. It puts my mind a little more at ease. I will go for some more sleep studies through our health system, and if that comes out the same they should pay for the equipment. I got caught up in bureaucracy (trying to use my state health system) and with the apnea...

I was told to buy a s3 spirit from resmed. I assume he meant an s8 as I couldn't find an s3. However the supplier he told me to goto wanted 2,000 euros for one (with a mask included). I thought this was expensive so bought the devilbiss for 1400 euros from another supplier. Still upset about that as...

my sleep tests, comments please
I would appreciate any insights and comments on these studies The top one is the sleep study and the bottom one the sleep study with cpap. They only did the 2 pressures. http://www.katsiva.com/paul/sleep_studies.jpg I don't think I slept enough after the pressure was put up to 5 to tell me anything....

Mouth Breathing
If you are mouth breathing at night with a nasal mask, would you get a sore throat from the pressures? I have a painfully sore throat when I swallow. and last night I struggled to breath through my nose so in the early hours of the morning my mask had to go nb: no software yet so fighting this blind...

Re: need advice fast
About my other masks...the nasal pillows don't bother me at all. But finding a mask that is (relatively) comfortable AND one that will keep the pillows in place has been elusive, so far. The masks are waking me up 10-12 times a night. Kind of defeats the purpose of using the machine. It will take t...

Quite possibly the "item" you need is a reader cable if your DeVilBiss has a data card to download the data to your 'puter. And/or you might need the data card if one wasn't supplied w/your machine. Just taking a guess. I'm only familiar w/the Resmeds and Respironics and that's the way they work. I...

I fixed the link. Also I found out the answer to my original question. The machine is designed so that after it has raised the pressure it will stay there for a while and then slowly decrease so theres no sudden change in the pressures. If it wakes me, instead of turning it off and on like I was, Th...

I'm just looking at the screen when i wake up because of the noise (or i think because of the noise) and it said 7.5 last night I can get the software and cable for the machine I have. I had to fork out €1400 ($2000) for a machine that is $800 in the USA. So I am waiting for my next pay cheque to co...
