Hi---I don't currently use a Mirage Activa mask, but I think that is the one where you should fit the straps very loosely. The air pressure will make the mask kind of suck onto your face. You should love your Mirage Swift though. Much more comfortable than the Activa in my opinion. I use a variable ...

When I was in the Dr office, the tech just breezed right past the stuff, only told me vague summary info and wouldn't go back and explain any of it. ______________ From my understanding of the system...techs are techs and doctors are doctors. Techs are to perform the tests. Doctors are to interpret....

Why don't you change the setting up or down a bit to see if you can get your AHI down? I think I'd be inclined to go up a bit, try that for a few days and see how you feel, plus what the AHI is. Play with that a bit and if that doesn't do it...it could possibly that you need a lower pressure to feel...

I've just noticed that I'm started to need less and less sleep. I felt quite a bit better than I did pre-cpap (I have severe apnea, AHI 85, oxygen desat to mid-50's)....but I still needed a TON of sleep for the longest time! I really felt best with a minimum of 10 hours per day of sleep and I'd take...

The way around this is to IMMEDIATELY send the seller a question and ask him/her to write you back so you can still get in touch if it is removed. _______________________________________________ I wouldn't recommend that......I did just that for an auction of an autopap, emailed back and forth with ...

Maybe you could go back to basics and take some time to get acclimated to your mask. Wear it while watching TV or reading a book. If you want to give your family a good laugh, wear it while cooking dinner! Anything to keep it on your face while you go about your daily routine. Don't even have to sta...

Started this diet two weeks ago. At one point had lost a little over 6 pounds. THEN....how rude is THIS!...while I was still dieting absolutely perfectly, no cheats...the scale went back up 3 pounds and STAYED THERE. Now I remember why I don't like to diet...sigh. But I'm not thinking about it and c...

Well, I've lost somewhere between 3 and 6 pounds (my weight fluctuates a LOT, lol). I really think I could count it as a loss of 4 overall. I've not exercised much at all...just played tennis about 3 times (which my personal trainer says doesn't count as exercise since my body is used to me doing it...

[quote="Goofproof"]I think if you are doing the treatment right your mouth doesn't dry out. Using a HH and not breathing through you mouth should keep your mouth moist. If you are having trouble with that your mouth must be open That's what I was thinking also.....I don't recall feeling air blowing ...

If your pressure ramps from 4-14, isn't that too large of a range? I think the "prevailing wisdom" suggests that you have maybe a 4-5 point range only....take whatever you were titrated at, then go two below and two above that point for your Autopap setting. Then use your software and readouts to tw...

Hmmmm. The doctors I know don't know a fig about CPAP machines nor do they really know anything about DME's. They may tell you to call Apria or some other business simply because that's the only name they know and because it worked last time they told someone to call that company. They don't really ...

Joe, I'm so glad you found this forum. You can find LOADS of help and information here....just the support group you need. I've had allergies and congestion lately...but only during the day. At night I put on my Swift mask and use the heated humidifier and I'm fine. Something about the Swift nasal p...

Okay, I"m in. I need to lose about 55 pounds. I'm desperately trying to count my WW points....so far I'm counting until I am WAY over my limit, lol. But I'm narrowing it down and getting closer and closer to the actual diet. So my short-term goal? I'd like to lose two pounds by next Friday. Jan in C...

I'm not going to worry about how much the DME charges my insurance plan. My insurance does pay 100% of durable medical equipment charges, so I'm lucky. But I did spend a good amount of time today going over my insurance claims for 2005 (seems the hospital wants an additional 20,000 bucks for my surg...
