Snoozie, I think the masks are all just made a little differently (kind of like our faces) so each one fits your face different. I know when I got my machine I tried on 4 or 5 diiferent masks and the one I really liked best did not work for my face!

50% General American English
40% Dixie
5% Midwestern
5% Upper Midwestern
0% Yankee

Fascinating thread ya'll! but what the heck is upper midwestern and where did i get it? I am:

Just curious, when you buy equipment on the internet do you have to have a prescription? I don't have a copy of mine (never did have one). My DME says my insurance only pays for a new mask every year, but i think i will check into that.

Barb, I have to agree with Jere, I also have chronic sinusitis and the nasal pillows have really helped me. Just keep insisting that you want to try them! Don't give up! and best of luck.

One Year Anniversary

Yippee today is my one year anniversary! Well I never thought I would make it through the first year. In the beginning I thought I would suffocate and there were several times I ripped the mask off my face awake and asleep. But I didn't give up and now I can truly say I am glad I didn't! So last nig...

This thread is fascinating! I never noticed it before. My job is kind of different, I get paid for being a full-time mom to teenage girls. I only have five right now, I have had as many as 9. Anyway, the ones I have right now are 17, 16, 16, 15, & 13. My life is always busy and I sure don't have tim...

I agree with rested gal, I would turn the ramp time down or off. I do remember that feeling of thinking i was suffocating, but don't give up! The benefits are worth the struggle. Good luck!

Yep, same as rested gal and frostman! For a while at the beginning, I didn't know to use distilled water and I changed it and cleaned it way more often, but the distilled water makes a huge difference!

It was the Astelin that tipped the scales.
Astelin tipped the scales for me too. I had been using Flonase and decongestant at night and I was getting frustrated because it wasn't working. My dr. gave me the Astelin(still w/decongestant) and I haven't had a problem since!
