The Perfect Interface (Mask)

The perfect mask has alluded me for many years. I taught that I was close several times. Most recently the ResMed AirFit N10 was really really good but I find that ResMed out did themselves with the N20. Very nearly didn't try it, but glad I did.

Re: Distilled Water

Used distilled water for over ten years. About six years ago I shifted to using softened water. Some solids collect in the humidifier tank but doesn't stick.

Re: Do You Dump Out Your Distilled Water Daily?

When I was using distilled water I dumped, cleaned and dried the water chamber about once a quarter (three months). That was my first ten years of therapy. For the past four years I've followed the same routine with soft water. Now there is an accumulation of minerals and stuff but it doesn't stick ...

Re: new pillow idea (side sleeper)

I am a side sleeper, primarily and have used a buckwheat husk pillow for over ten years. Mine is warm in winter and cool in summer, seems strange but it's true. Another "hard to believe", it is easy to shape and holds the shape fairly well. On the minus side: some people will find these pillows too ...

Re: Waiting for new IntelliPAP. Peogramming ?'s

There may be some confusion on my part (that is often the case). I suspect that you may be looking for the Set-Up instructions and maybe not the monitoring program/ Smart Link system. 1. Plug in the machine. (do NOT turn it on yet) 2. press and hold down the DOWN and DELAY buttons 3. press the on/of...

Re: Mask why don't they make one for me

If you are looking for a small mask, you might consider two SleepNet masks, i.e. the IQ or the MiniMe, they both worked well for me. However I had NO success with their Phantom mask.

Re: LT Activa vs. Old style Activa?

For me, the major improvement is that the LT has the hose swivel located on the mask frame instead of at the end of an auxiliary tube. However, this arrangement can affect leaking, unless you use a cuffless hose. The traditional hose with the heavy end cuff tends to skew the mask frame and increase ...

It in not necessary to be put under during a colonoscopy.

All I felt was a little pressure, it wasn't even uncomfortable.

Re: Newbie Needs Advice...

Regarding your humidification: If you can't get enough humidity with an in room humidifier, then you might try to get a pass-over humidifier that has the largest surface area. The largest one that I know of is a Resparinics that has roughly a square foot of surface area. https://www.cpap.com/product...

Re: ResMed Mirage Activa LT -vs- Mirage SoftGel Result

You might consider using a cuffless hose, takes the bulk and wieght of the hose end cuff out of the equasion.

Re:Clinician's Manual

As far as I know every machine has a user's and a clinician's manual packed with it when it leaves the factory. Did someone remove your clinition's manual before the machine was turned over to you? Why not ask the DME to hand over the clinician's manual, they most likely have a pile of them!

Re: Specialty Pillows??

I never used a pillow until I started with the hose. Tried several pillows and settled on the Buckwheat Hull several years ago. Somehow, it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter?? It's easy to shape but holds the shape well?? It is noisy but I adapted to it after a few nights, don't even noti...

Re: New Mask Suggestions for Stomach Sleeper

In my opinion the Active Cell technology is NOT a sales gimmick. Have used the Mirage Activa since it first came out. Early on I modifies two of them by installing the swivels onto the elbows. Another improvement was using a cuffless hose in place of the inlet tube assembly. My reasoning is that the...
