Re: getting nowhere

I agree with Rip. It's all about the data. Also, I figured out that claustraphobic feeling went away with a machine/mask combination that implemented really good exhale relief. I use the Remstar M-Series w/ AFlex ... and swear by it. I had this panic-feeling until I had a good combination of (a) exh...

Resmed Mirage Micro ... Anyone have an opinion?

I'd like to know if anybody out there has this new nasal mask, and has an opinion on it.

I have four dogs ... my wife is an animal fan ... and they sleep all around my bed. Prior to CPAP, when I'd wake up from OA episodes, I'd always have to step over sleeping dogs to get to the bathroom. They're worthless. I'd rather keep my M-Series and donate the dogs to a Vietnamese Restaurant. Rusty

Your advice on pressure paterns ...

Many of you commented on my theory that Auto-Pressure getting too high was waking me up. Your "contrarian" suggestion was to set minimum pressure higher, to avoid forcing the auto-pressure feature to "adjust" upward. I was set with Min=6 and Max=14. I decided to do both ideas ... mine and yours. I s...

Well OK ... that's some great advice. I'm going to do some analysis on exactly what the pressure is when the events that drive it up take place ... and then reset my minimum to attempt to avoid that. It's a bit counter-intuitive, as you'd think that the high pressure is what would be causing this .....

Take a look at the thread I just started on this subject. It's orthogonal to your topic. (I just love it when I get to use that word.) I'm trying to figure out if the Auto feature induces a change during breathing events that actually does more harm than good, and ends up waking me up. The answer wi...

Anybody ever tested Auto-vs-NonAuto?

Here's my discussion question ... Is it possible that the Auto feature of the machines that automatically build pressure to respond to breathing events, might actually take you to a pressure that is so high, that it also wakes you up ... doing more harm than good? Stated a different way ... Is a bre...

I know I'm bucking the conventional wisdom here ... but I'm pretty happy with the software and data. It's easy to use, and simple to understand. I find I'm able to make good adjustment decisions from it, and have settled into a really good pattern. Occasionally I get that annoying "Missing Day" deta...

I'm convinced that virtually everyone purporting to be "experts" in this industry ... are really middle-ages village-idiots reincarnated as "Sleep Experts". I was really lucky. I was in the hospital to remove my gall bladder, my doctor said "You snore a lot and obviously have OSA." He prescribed an ...

I agree with Wuff-Man !!! Your pressure is pretty low. I'm in the same category, my average pressure on my Auto-CPAP fluctuates between 10 and 13 (high is set to 14), and my AHI is around 5.0 over the past month. Depending on a lot of facors, it fluctuate between 1.0 and 8.0. You're is too high ... ...

I registered for the trial. I ended up shaving off my beard so that I could get a good seal around my Mirage FF mask. I'm looking forward to seeing if this one works, either through participation ... or just seeing the results.

This is very detailed, very aggressive, and comes from a "guest" that refuses to use a normal online identity. Is he/she afraid that Mr. Resmed is going to send his cousin "Guido" to break his/her knuckles? I always read stuff like this for recrational value ... not fact. It sounds more like one of ...

I've come down 20 lbs, and lowered my max pressure from 20 to 14. My average now is 90% at 13, and Average around 10 or 11. It was much higher 20 lbs ago. I find that I have a lot more energy, and am working out for about 45 minutes every day. Unfortunately ... 20 lbs is a "rounding error" on my alm...

I'm a bit of an exception ... in that I keep three masks, and tend to rotate them. I have a full-face, and two variants of Nasal "cover" masks. I can't handle the masks where you stick the "pointy ends" into your nose. That's just too wierd for me. Most people settle on a single mask, but I actually...

What is the "most important" metric?

I'm interested in opinions on what is the "most important" metric or measurement to either move in a positive direction, or at least stay constant. If you'd take a second and answer the poll, along with any editorial you'd like ... I'd appreciate it. I'm curious becuase I've been trying a few differ...
