Yeah--I suppose it won't make a huge difference. It might help for an hour or two, though, and I'll be somewhere relatively warm. I'll probably give it a shot.

putting hot water in humidifier
Hi, all. I'm wondering if anyone's tried putting hot water in their humidifier tank when they were in a situation (e.g., camping) where they couldn't run the heated humidifier. The reason I ask is that I'm going to be spending much of the next week camping with my new Everest + battery setup, but th...

Flying in Europe/England w/CPAP
I'm going to be flying to England and Italy in a few days and am wondering if anyone knows if the UK and EU treat CPAPs the same way as the US when calculating one's carry-on luggage allowance. In the US, CPAPs are exempted from carry-on luggage restrictions, so you can carry your CPAP plus your usu...

I've been using a snugglehose hose cover over my heated hose, but I have it pulled up so that it covers the 6" hose connecting my Swift to the heated hose and then covers most of the heated hose as well. This is the only way I've been able to control the condensation enough to get a good night's sle...

Any thoughts on what caused that 4 month delay followed by what sounds like a pretty rapid improvement? Did you change masks or anything, or did it just take that long to catch up? I'm curious because, after 5+ months of being a very compliant CPAP user, I'm still waiting for that promised increase ...

Here are a couple threads from other boards that discuss the same thing: http://www.apneasupport.org/about2340.html http://www.sleepnet.com/apnea69/messages/797.html The hypothesis that it's the result of sleeping more soundly and not moving around much gets mentioned a lot, but I'd be really curiou...

I've had a similar experience to a number of those described here: pain in my mid- to upper back while on CPAP. For me, it didn't start till I had been on CPAP for several months. It began the night I first used my heated hose. It was so bad it'd wake me up, and often I couldn't get back to sleep. I...

I had a very bad cold a couple months ago and felt that the cpap made my symptoms worse. It got to the point where I couldn't sleep with my cpap because the blowing air made me cough all the time. I stopped using it for a week. Neither my GP nor my sleep doc seemed concerned about that when I told t...

It's hard to tell from the study summary just what's going on, but it sounds to me like the statement that sleep apnea "was not a significant player in excessive daytime sleepiness" is a combination of the prosecutor's fallacy [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosecutor%27s_fallacy] and imperfect metho...

Far be it from me to be the defrender of DMEs, but the one reason I can think of to go with a DME rather than BMI would be that some DMEs (mine, at least) allow you to try on a number of different masks before your insurance purchases one. I found this to be very helpful when I was starting out, and...

Believe me, Willy, I'm trying. All I've gotten from the Docs so far to explain why I get so many colds and why I'm always at least somewhat congested is (1) I seem to get sick a lot and (2) I'm allergic to cats (of which I have one, who's no longer allowed in my bedroom). I'm going in tomorrow to se...
