Re: Increased pressure = zombieism. Help?
Thanks for the suggestions. I actually am having some bloodwork done, as soon as my medical card turns up in the mail (hopefully this week), so that's that taken care of. (I'm looking into an APAP, but that won't be for a while yet) I know for sure that I'm not sleeping with my mouth open, because I...

Increased pressure = zombieism. Help?
Okay, so I've been dealing with some Issues recently, in that I was back to taking 4-5 hour 'naps' in the afternoon (with cpap) in spite of also using it at night for 7-8 hours. So my doc sent me for another sleep study. Yay, right? My new pressure is 15. My old pressure was 10. Besides having the u...

Re: POLL: Apnea and Blood Pressure
I'm one of those people with obnoxiously normal blood pressure. No real change before or after the intro of the CPAP. I'm a pretty steady 115/75, though it's been known to go down to 103/64. I do get White Coat Syndrome, though- usually around 145/90ish.

My sinuses are a mess, so I end up using about two cups of water each time I rinse (which is not every day because I end up gacking stuff up in the sink for half an hour and my sisters are threatening to move out). I use half and half sea salt and baking soda (1/4 tsp each to two cups water), which ...

Let's put it this way, OP- if you buy from a company here, you'll probably end up paying just as much out of pocket *with* the guaranteed OHIP coverage, as you would just shelling out for it from cpap.com with no OHIP. I was uninsured at the time and paid $300 for my machine and $200+ for my mask (w...

During my titration study I was given a range of 8 to 10. After six months on 8 and not really seeing much change, I've been upped to 9 to see what happens. I occasionally sleep without it (when I crash and burn on the couch, or am so exhausted I fall asleep before I get a chance to put the mask on)...

Oh, it's one of those fine print things- people taking high doses of inhaled steroids for prolonged periods of time are at a higher risk for glaucoma and cataracts, as well as bone thinning. I'm not taking high doses, but glaucoma is such a thing in my family that I have to get checked for it every ...

My athsma is mainly cold weather related- cold air does me in like anything, and being in Canada, that's not really a good thing-, though it's also set off by cigarette smoke and most perfumes/strong fragrances. Sometimes I stand next to someone who used loads of fabric softener or very smelly shamp...

Yayness, narrow noses, and changing pressure on F&P HC23
Thanks to all who replied to my last post, I was lazy and working and like a cad didn't reply there, so I shall reply here. I feel all welcomed and loved (well, newbie-loved) and everything. I really appreciate all the advice. I called the place where I got my machine and found out that they can cha...

I'm so jealous. I've been eyeballing that very mask for the last three weeks. Sadly, when I went to get the pressure on my machine changed and got a chance to try it on, I found out my nose is too narrow to get a seal, and my head is too fat for the headgear. But yay for you! Hope it all works out f...

Frustrated and tired. :(
Or is that the other way around? It's all getting a bit confused at this point. My name is Thren (*waves*), I'm 26, single, working a crappy data entry job, live with two sisters and five dogs. I'm very fat for various reasons- one of those being PCOS- and my doctor(s) seem to think fixing the apnea...
