Wow. I feel lucky that my husband is so supportive. He actually nagged me to WEAR the mask when I started therapy and had trouble adjusting to the machine. Sudden death runs in my family and he is terrified that he will wake up and find me not breathing. The good news is that you do adjust fairly qu...

Austin Sleep center

I also have little experience with sleep centers, but have found that the Sleep Disorder Center people have been very helpful and professional with me. I especially like their Nurse Practitioner. I had both of my studies there. They are out in the Westlake area. I don't know what DME they are affili...

a tube of material that covers my hair. Someone on this forum recommended them. They are light and stretchy and keep the headgear from rubbing my hair. My curls were getting mangled from the stuff they make the headgear out of. Not a pretty site... it's bad enough that it's turning gray, but to be m...

cpap pillow

I have the first pillow and it is in the closet rarely used. I find that it is too thin and not very comfortable. I do use it on occasion when I use my comfort curve, but must use it on top of another pillow when I do to have proper neck support. Most of the time I use a very soft, down alternative ...

Comfort Curve - late long post.

Hi Tex, I purchased a comfort curve from cpap.com - rec'd next day. Great service from cpap.com. I tried to post the other day but got lost in cyber space. My experience with this interface is that it seems to take a lot of adjustment to get it to seal for most people. I read most of the reviews and...

taking off mask

When I first started therapy, I was taking my mask off at night without knowing it also. My doc told me that sometimes this happens when the pressure is a little too low. By increasing the pressure only 1 cm, I stopped removing the mask. Air hunger maybe? I wear a FFM.

Hang in there Sum! You have come to the right place. I am also a newbie and have found more useful advice here in this forum than I found anywhere else since I started treatment. This is an incredibly well informed group of people that is willing to share their knowledge and experience with us neoph...

Elfman, I also am a new CPAP user. I have been using CPAP for about 2 months now. Falling asleep is not my problem - staying asleep is. I have changed masks 4 times so far, had my pressure increased and am going back in next week to speak with the doc yet again. I am waking up every hour or so most ...

Not a GI, but also a relatively new CPAP user and new to this board. I have been "on the tube" now for about 8 weeks. I am on my fourth interface and having trouble finding one that I can use consistently - doc tells me this is not unusual. I tried a gel nasal mask for one night and had an allergic ...
