Nose mask vs Swift LT

I am a CPAP user for about a year. The first mask I tried was an Opus nasal pillows. It just didn't work for me. I tried all sizes of pillow and could not get them to fit in my nose correctly without leakage. I then swapped them in for a Resperonics nasal mask which I used for awhile but the mask wa...

Are you using EPR on your Elite? If so, which setting?

Theoretically, they should all blow the same pressure at the same settings......
You notice I said SHOULD.

I am not using EPR.

Machines difference with same pressure.

I am at a pressure of 9. When I had a Fisher and Paykel 660, I ws able to sleep through the night and didn;t even get up to go to the bathroom. I now have a Resmed Elite because of it's data cpapbility. Pressure is still 9 but I find that I get up at least once during the night. So, I was wondering ...

Re: special kind of hell

It's a special kind of hell when you've been asleep and wake up feeling like complete crap and have a machine sitting by your bed, unused, that could fix the problem yet you cannot use it because otherwise you toss and turn all night due to dried out inflamed eyes. Even more frustrating is that sin...

I recently attacked a noisy swivel on the somnoplus mask. This is what I did ---- by the time it was over problem was solved so I am not sure what part worked. I sprayed cooking spray into the area (like pam canola spray but this was Safeway's own brand) I nuked some water in a cup and then put the...

squeeky joints

I have a Resmed Mirage Micro mask. I read on one of the posts that the plastic swivel area squeeks. Mine does the same thing. Does anyone have an idea how to lubricate these areas (can not take this area apart. . I don't think) without affixiating myself?

Thanks.

Re: CPAP now Diabetes? Glucose Monitor questions

I am pre-diabetic and use Free Style. Only need a little bit of blood. I can test on the finger tips, forarm, thigh and the padded area just under the thumb on your palm. The last area is what I test on. It may pinch a bit but I get a good sample there. I actually found a source to get test strips a...

reading with the micro

I do not read with glasses. . .need them for distance. A thought. They have a magnifing glass on a stand that is geared for people doing close work. . .I think it comes on a stand for the floor. Just something to check out if the glasses thing does not work.

Micro Mirage

[quote="Slinky"]Well now, BillBolton, you KNOW I LOVE my Resmeds. But doggone it, I just couldn't resist. Its nice to know tho that several of Resmed's design and engineering team members are active CPAP user themselves.

Re: Why am I still tired?

[quote="sybert1ger"]The few threads I've started here have all had this same theme. More time passes and yet I'm still tired all the time. I've been on CPAP for 14 months now. At no point during these 14 months have I felt any improvement in my day time fatigue. My AHI consistently hovers around 2.0...

New nose mask ideas. . Micro Mirage?

I am due for a new mask. I currently have a Respironics Comfort Select nasal mask. Although I believe it is working, I am not sure if I am getting the best fit. The Tech at my doc's office said I might want to check out the Micro Mirage. Someone else said that the Respironics Comfort Gel is also a g...

Thanks Sleepy Carol. I received mine yesterday. No problems with the envelope. I also have not yet used it but it looks great.

Thanks again. That was very kind and generous of you.

Do the nose size cutouts help find Comforgel size?

I am contemplating getting a Comfort Gel. I have a comfort select but someone said that the Comfort Gel would be more comfortable for me. CPAP.com has it for a good priceso I would probably just pay for it out of pocket. The person said that I have a small nose and the the petite size would probably...

just my 2 cents

When I had my sleep study, there was an 11 year old there having a sleep study as well. His mom said that he is always dead tired during the day. Not sure what the follow-up was.

Thanks Slinky

Slinky, I'll try your suggestion. It's worth a shot. It might be indicative of that machines motor and it's just something that is annoying to me. . .or that I notice and others do not. At least I know the ear plugs do get rid of it so all I hear is my breathing. I have not had the epr option on sin...
