Re: Just like my mom told me. Learn to keep your mouth shut.
I didn't think about it until I was reading the posts, that I keep my tongue touching the roof of my mouth almost all the time. Weird.

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)
I used to use a full face mask, because when I first got my CPAP I thought it made more sense. When my FF broke, I was forced to get a strictly nasal. I got a chin strap also, but found if I do open my mouth, I end up waking myself up. I haven't had any problems in the last 6 months! One great thing...

Mask Help!
I was using a Fisher & Pykel Flexifit 431 ( I think) full face mask. Only mask I have really ever used...The other night, I keep my cpap machine on a shelf above my bed, and it fell. It happened to hit me right in the middle of the forehead, and then hit the mask just right to break off the piece th...

Re: Narcolepsy & Sleep Apnea
Thanks to everyone. As far as the multiple sleep latency test, maybe you can help me with this. What was your experiences with this? I have read that the mslt you get a chance to sleep every 2 hrs and depending on how long it takes you to fall asleep determines if you have the disorder or not. I bel...

Re: Apria?...
I have had good experiance with Apria. I live in Northern VA. Don't skip the class tho. It was wonderfully informative, and i got to try on multiple masks and types of equipment. My Cpap is a Remstar M Series with heated humidifier. Only qualm with Apria is that at the class, the rep stated that all...

Re: Waking Up Tired
Perhaps you should establish a bedtime routine, as much as you can, and decrease your use of medications to help you fall asleep. You may be building up a tolerance to these medicines. I use a full face mask, that I find is very comfortable, and does not leak like others I have tried. I recomend goi...

Narcolepsy & Sleep Apnea
Apologize in advance for such the long post... In April of 2007 I got a titration study and found I had Moderate obstructive sleep apnea. In May of that year I had sinus surgery. I do not remember the name of it, but they opened my nasal passages and reduced the size of my turbinates. I slept better...

thanks beegee....
yeah, I was thinking that the moisture and the movement etc. may be the problem. I was thinking maybe I could put like, uh, first aid tape, you know the paper kind, over the silicone part of the mask that rests on my face and maybe that would prevent the 'chafing'.

Marks from mask...
Does anyone else have this problem? I have a Fisher and Pykel Full Face Mask, a FlexiFit 431. I have had CPAP for over a year, and in the morning I wake up with lines all over my cheeks and on my forehead from the mask. They seem to take forever to go away, and I have to go to work. I don't sleep wi...

Maybe your nasal pillows...
I started my CPAP use a year ago and was anxious to try nasal pillows. I did for about a month, and I too woke up gasping/etc. I have read (and correct me if I am wrong) that nasal pillows are very hard to get used to. Luckely I called Apria and they sent me a 'sample' of a fisher and pykel full fac...

Resperonics M Series Humidifier Trouble
I have been using CPAP for a little over a year, and I am doing wonderful, and love everything about my machine except: I have a Resperonics M Series CPAP with a Heated Humidifier. I got the machine in about May 2007. The model # is 1022334. My problem is: When at night, I fill up the humidifier, it...

I have been using a Fisher and Pykel Flexi Fit 431 since May 2007. I use Apria Healthcare as a CPAP service and they requested that I come to a CPAP class to learn about my machine as I had never used one before. The 'teacher' gave us different masks to try and I decided that I would rather use a fu...

I use distilled water sometimes, when I have nothing else to spend my money on....but I usually just take a trip to the bathroom and fill it up with tap water. I usually soak my equipment in vinigar water anyway so I don't really seem to care much about the buildup. You should be fine using tap wate...

hope this helps!
I was diagnosed with sleep apnea when I was 18 years old. I was a senior in high school and had gone to an ENT doctor to see about all my sinus infections. Well, he sent me for a sleep study and low and behold, I have it. My father also has sleep apnea. His pressure is set on 6 and he was diagnosed...
