Crusing Down the CPAP Highway..then BAM!..a pothole

For over nine months on CPAP my numbers rarely change. Monthly averages are AHI 2.9, Leaks 0, pressure 10.6. Nothing ever changes or varies. Doing really well. However, in the last week my AHI's have gone up to a little over 5 every morning...still no leaks and pressure is the same. The only thing t...

Alternative to expensive DME Resmed S8 Filters

Has anyone found an alternative to the expensive Resmed S8 Vantage blue/white filters? My DME charges $35.00 for a filter....online they seem to run about $2.00 plus...(amazing the difference!). Any alternative out there? Make my own out of something? Find something at Home Depot and cut to size? Th...

I also had horrible facial swelling with my first full face mask...felt like the Pillsbury Dough Boy (girl). After two morning of being very, very puffy I promptly went back to the sleep doc....he said...and I am only repeating...I have no facts....that the swelling was because the pressure of the m...

I have one, but it is not a Nasal Aire II. I will gladly sacrifice it. I'm sure glueing and trying to re-do the holes would work just fine on it for an experiment.

And even be careful when washing your face and splashing to rinse....just could have a little extra moisture in the nares if you insert the prongs too soon after. Everything must be dry. Even when I think I am being super careful and I insert the prongs and then futz around for a bit before I settle...

I agree...it is the best (for me). No pressure points, no sore spots, no strap marks, no leaks, lightweight, etc. etc. etc. It was the answer for me. My first mask, full face, caused facial swelling and eye swelling (long story and not because it was too tight). Second mask was a nasal pillow system...

It does not seem too....I sleep through it I supppose. When the exhalation vents near the pillow it does change the sound, but not disturbingly so....easy to deal with....adjust the pillow or turn over. On second thought.......I have been exposed to my snorning husbands "exhaust fumes" for years. I ...

I am absolutely in love with the Nasal Aire II. It solved all my leak issues, mask pressure points, and comfort issues, etc. etc. etc. It is the best. To solve our "jet stream" issues I just put up a pillow barricade. Our bed is big enough that a pillow between us is not an issue.

I found that while I was getting use to the vent noise from my Nasal Air interface that I continue to use my "sounds" machine that I had always slept with. Now I am comfortable with the vent noise and think of it as "white noise". Sometimes I imagine that it is the same sound as being in an airplane...

I'm interested in the response to this question also. I was not even aware that PLMD was one of my issues until the sleep study was done which reported "severe" PLMD. I have never had tossed about bed covers. I have never had a husband(s) mention anything about leg movements, kicking, jerking, etc. ...
