Re: USB adapter or SmartCard Reader for use with ResScan?
Excellent point. It's a Lenovo Thinkpad X61, recently upgraded to Windows 7. Most but not all Vista-capable devices and drivers seem to work with Windows 7. Actual experience with either the USB connector or the card reader under Windows 7 would be nice to hear about. In general, though, I don't see...

USB adapter or SmartCard Reader for use with ResScan?
Hi, with advice from folks here I just got and quite like the S8 Autoset II. I plan to get ResScan software. My DME (which, as usual, won't supply me with software) did include the SmartCard but not the SmartCard Reader with the delivery. So my choices seem to be (1) get SmartCard Reader for the car...

comfortlite 2 nasal pillows (new) to trade
I have an unused size 5 direct seal nasal pillow for the comfortlite 2, and would like to trade for an unused size 4. Anyone interested? PM me.

I'll try straight CPAP, but the help desk at cpap.com isn't optimistic. Either mode relies on the pressure sensor to regulate pressure, whether it's constant or variable. I could probably buy oxygen tubing, which I'm told is the same gauge, and bore a hole in the side of one end of the six-foot tube...

PB420E - but no hose with pressure line sensor....
Here's one for the cpap hackers out there.... My DME sent the wrong replacement hose for my PB420E. They sent a standard 6-foot hose, not the one with the pressure line sensor. (I no longer have the old hose.) I'm ordering a new hose now for delivery tomorrow, from cpap.com. For sleeping tonight, wh...

Swift for 7 months - what to replace, and how often?
Thanks to lots of help on this forum, I got started with cpap and have been treated successfully for 7 months now, using a PB 420E and Swift mask. Unlike lots of folks here, I don't have a mask collection and (since the hospital) have used only the Swift. For a week or so I find it has been slipping...

Spare GoodKnight H20 humidifier?
I travel regularly between two cities. Thinking I'd like to take just the PB 420E with me and have an H20 humidifier in each place.
I own one. Anyone happen to have a spare they want to sell?

Bless you, WillSucceed. You know, in my bleary eyed quest last night, I considered whether it would help to pull out the silicone sleeve. I worked at it with what seemed to be a fair amount of force, and it barely moved. Decided to quit before I turned a one-night problem into a broken machine. Now ...

travel trouble--missing part?
I brought my PB 420E to Washington today on an overnight business trip--without the humidifier. I figured I could get by without it and wanted to travel light. now I see that the 6 foot hose to my mask, which normally connects to the humidifier, doesn't fit the 420 directly. (Why o why not make the ...

Leaks when I sleep on side
There are so many Swift threads I don't know where to put this, but here goes: It works well for me, as a 30-day novice at xpap, when I'm on my back. But when I turn squarely on my side, the pressure of the pillow on the headgear strap shifts the interface ever so slightly and it starts leaking at t...

I'm in NYC and used American Oxygen, which I believe is LI based and in any case certainly serves LI. I liked them. Didn't know half as much as the folks on this board, but they worked with me to get what I specified and their pricing, while marked up over cpap.com's, was not outrageous. http://www....

Actually, RG, I just had the strangest dream -- I was thinking of a question, and you appeared on my computer to answer before I quite finished posting.... Ok, so I understand that the machine should help regardless of sleep stage, and that if my numbers are down overall that's good. But to be sure ...

One twist on the apnea-hypopnea index: in some cases the overall number can be misleading, or miss the main problem. My overall AHI (~15) in the sleep lab shows only moderate sleep apnea but during REM sleep, when most muscles are paralyzed, the AHI (~45 or 50) is severe. It was clear my dream sleep...
