Re: How to know if humidifier is working correctly?

Thanks everyone. Hmmm.....I always wondered why sometimes there was a blue light in the water chamber, and a orang-ish light at other times. But I think I've been setting it right before use. Interesting.......I never knew about how to warm up the water first. Is that just a test, or should I be doi...

How to know if humidifier is working correctly?

I know the humidity in our house goes up and down, depending on how much the A.C. is working, if a window is open, etc. But recently, things have been pretty consistent, weather-wise, but the water in my humidifier chamber isn't going down. Plus, I've developed headaches and pressure in my forehead ...

Re: Black tongue??

Hmmm.....the Spry gum sounds like a good idea. I have to be careful though, since I have TMJ. I DO have good oral hygiene. I'm thinking I need to start back up on a Probiotic daily, which might help me not need the Pepto. My husband has been gone all day and no one else is around, so I'm not sure if...

Re: Black tongue??

Thanks LSAT and Janknitz! I didn't mention this, but I chewed a Rolaids right before bed. I've done that before and it didn't do anything. The internet says that it can happen with Pepto if you eat certain foods with higher sulfur, so maybe that's it. I have IBS-D, so I need the pepto. :( I brush my...

Black tongue??

I use an older model nasal mask and tape my mouth, since there's no way I could keep it closed. But the cpap still blows air into my mouth and I think it stays there for long periods of time and dries my mouth out. I didn't think it was a big deal. But this morning I woke up with a horrible, strange...

Blocked tear ducts from using nasal pillows?

I found one thread about this, but it's 5 years old. I've developed one watery eye. The doc's nurse told me to use artificial tears. The drops just run out, so I'm pretty sure it's a clogged tear duct. The first time I had it, I used baby shampoo several times a day on a cotton swab and massaged the...

How can chin straps possibly work?

I have to tape my mouth every night. (I wear nasal pillows). It's getting old. I tried a couple chin straps a long time ago, but no matter how good the chin strap is, you can still blow air out right? If I clench my teeth closed, I can still blow lots of air out of my mouth.
How can these work?

Yeast? Dehydration? Taping mouth the culprit??

I always try to figure out why something is happening. What's difficult is that I'm having huge flares of my fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis......and everything else that can go wrong. I wear nasal pillows and tape my mouth. I've been doing this for over 10 years. I would love to wear a full face ma...

sleeping well without my cpap.....

I've used cpap for about 11-12 years. I use a swift nasal pillow, but have to tape my mouth shut. Well, about 2 weeks ago, I got the flu. I had horrible coughing fits, so I couldn't use the cpap, since coughing like that with tape over my mouth, and no forewarning........well, I could lose brain mat...

Re: Help me remember how to test my machine's pressure

Okay, I'm back. Maybe I just don't understand ....but I tried it, and when I turned the machine on, water bubbled up so violently, that there was no way to see the ruler. When I watched the You Tube.....he didn't show any bubbling. What am I doing wrong? He was only working with 4cm of pressure........

Help me remember how to test my machine's pressure

I tested my cpap machine a couple years ago, to make sure it was putting out the pressure it was set for. But I totally forget how I did it. I think it involve a container of water and maybe a ruler?? I've been having a lot of physical problems for awhile, and started wondering if it was not putting...
