Remind me how to help my poor sore nose...
Been back on treatment for about a week now and have a bump on the bridge of my nose. I use a Quattro FF mask (I am a horrible mouth breather). I have to have the mask pretty tight to prevent leaks but any ideas you all have for how to help my poor nose are much appreciated. Thanks!

OK, tightened mask up and getting an AHI of 1.5-2.5ish the last few nights. Leaks are better, and I turned EPR off except for ramp time. I think EPR being on was causing me to have more apnea events. I've felt more rested the last couple of days

Next question, does it track "events" that occur while the ramp is going (I'm awake)?

Re: I'm back... lost weight still need cpap, got a new Resmed s9
I will hang onto my APAP and check how things are going as I lose more weight. I did ask for an APAP, but since I spent most of my time in the past on APAP at 12 (not sure why, as events happen mostly on my back and in REM... but maybe I am on my back more when I'm on xPAP than I am otherwise??) I f...

Re: I'm back... lost weight still need cpap, got a new Resmed s9
Well, I really thought since I am young that losing the weight might help. I wasn't trying to pick on anyone so I hope no one is offended by my post. I'm still 60 pounds overweight and didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. But yes, it is a common misconception only "fat people" have apnea. In fact,...

I'm back... lost weight still need cpap, got a new Resmed s9
I haven't been here in ages. I was faithfully using my old Resmed s8 autoset until I lost 72 pounds. I put back on a few pounds due to foot surgery, but felt reasonably ok and quit using the machine. I gradually got more and more tired, so had another study. Turns out I still need CPAP, but only for...

Re: Benzodiazepines Potentially Fatal for OSA Patients
I can say the night after my colonoscopy with versed my AHI was scary high. It was normal the next night. Versed definitely affected my AHI and sleep.

Re: OT: Humira?
I am not on the board, but my husband is and he told me about your post. I am taking Humira for my RA. Just started, and have taken 3 shots to date. The first one I injected into my thigh and it hurt like #$&%. The next two I did in my stomach and my husband gave them to me. Iced before the shot an...

Re: OT: Humira?
Sorry I have not been back. Trying to keep moving through the pain. I was on the MTX in pill form a long while ago and became VERY discouraged when it did nothing but make me tired and feel bad. The rheumy at the time even hinted that she did not believe I was feeling bad from it! Like I would lie? ...

Just wondering if anyone here has taken Humira or is taking it. I just had my first injection today. I am on it for RA.

A 4 would make me feel suffocated too. Sigh. He cannot comprehend that people get into their machines and adjust things themselves. He needs to come here and read up on OSA more but I am trying to be sure I am not pushy.

Re: Help w/ some things for my dad--comfortgel mask & leak/vent
I know. 4 seems really low to me. He is still having plenty of hypopneas and if he wore it all night every night he would probably have more apneas I would guess. Maybe not. I am concerned that the mask won't even vent properly at a 4. I will suggest an overnight oximetry to him.

Re: Help w/ some things for my dad--comfortgel mask & leak/vent
Yes it is a FF mask. He told my brother it was leaking around his eyes. I mentioned to him that he should call the DME and ask for another mask and he said oh it's fine... and that he didnt want to bother them. I am wondering about his leaks though... what is a good # for l/min for leaks with a comf...
