Re: Inflate Cushion?

Like K_ogre said, I also just put the mask on and let the machine start up, as it starts to blow in the mask I exhale to make it easier to get used to the air coming in. Then if I need to reseat the cushion on my face I do so. Just seems easier that way and I don't have the high pressure air slappin...

Re: Embarrassed - but

This probably happens when the mask is on and when lying down, the facial skin is distorted and when that happens, the mouth also tends to 'go crooked' so to speak, not much to do to change that I 'm afraid.

Re: Embarrassed - but

I dont know of anything to stop the drool, and dont be embarrased about that , I for one have had the same problem since I started using a mask , didnt matter what kind of mask, I still drooled, and still do to this day. I cannot use a ff mask, I imagine the problem with a seal is really bad with it...

Re: CPAP noise - whistling and... honking?! :o

I started CPAP therapy in Aug 2014. I didn't notice any noise from my CPAP machine until I moved to a new house in Sep 2015 and got a less obnoxiously loud aircleaner for my bedroom. When I mentioned a bad whistling noise, my DME didn't even care to know more, they just offered to swap out my unit ...

Re: cpap vs vpap

Pugsy, which is the more comfortable to exhale on a bi-pap, lower number or higher number? After my last bout of double pneumonia, my pulmo. doc ordered a bi-pap for me, but he had the pressure set too low, I couldn't breathe in or out, so I raised it to my average daily pressure of 15, and went ba...

Re: cpap vs vpap

While VPAP is often advised for people with respiratory/lung issues it can also be useful for regular folks without lung issues who might simply need more pressure than cpap can deliver or they need more exhale relief than regular cpap can deliver. VPAP is just Resmed's marketing term for bilevel a...

Re: I'm sorry, but I don't know what to do!!

I wonder if you are allergic to the materials in the mask or tubing? Seems unlikely. She is having inhaled allergen symptoms. I don't think there are any allergens in the mask or tubing. (You have to have a protein for that.) There might be something in the water, and she should definitely think ab...

Re: POLL: Which type of mask is your primary mask?

Because I'm waking up a few times during the night to adjust my leaking Swift Lt, I am: - going to try putting a little cushion (made from a few layers of moleskin) on my upper lip to angle the pillows a bit more - trying the velcro cure found here: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=5965&high...

Re: What size Swift LT pillow?

When I first got my LT, like you , I had the whistles.. very annoying to say the least! And also, like you, I kept changing sizes until I found one that was comfortable and no whistles and no leaks. Which was a Medium. And like Hurricane suggested, use the Ayr gel. I use it religiously every night. N...

Re: Jaw problems from nasal pillow and headgear?

I have had bruxism/tmj all of my life. When I was a little girl, my Mom would awake me and tell me to quit grinding my teeth. And now years later, I have lost 3 jaw teeth, because of clenching my teeth together and grinding them, literally pushed the teeth out of socket. The jaw joints get really te...
