Brasshopper...thanks for your thoughtful reply. I agree with pretty much everything you said. I knew a bit about sleep cycles, and it does indeed seem to me that I can't go smoothly from Cycle #2 to Cycle #3. The timing of the awakening is VERY consistent. I used to have night terrors, which always ...

Bonnie...I'm very much trying to figure out why I wake up. I was hoping it would be correctable by ramping up my pressure, but (admittedly after just 1 night), so far it seems it doesn't have anything to do with my apnea. What do I feel like when I wake up? Well, it's almost always 3 hours after I'v...

Well, I upped my minimum APAP pressure from 9.5 to 10.5 last night. AHI stayed low (less than 1.0), but snore index dropped from my usual 9-11 to less than 1 (!). Alas, I still woke up a couple times during the night (usually 2am and 5am). Here's my dumb followup question: if my AHI is already less ...

snore index
Hi, everyone. I've been analyzing my smart card results and have a question. My APAP is presently set at a minimum pressure of 9.5. My AHI numbers look great (consistently around 1.0), but I'm still doing a fair amount of snoring (snore index usually 8-11) . My sleep is still disturbed (waking up af...

Thanks for taking the time to try to help, Wulfman. The LED monitor on my APAP shows both "blower hours" and "compliance hours". The data is definitely recording that the machine is blowing air into me (91 hours over the past 14 days), but only 15.1 actual compliance/therapy hours. I'm definately go...

Hi, JL...thanks for your continuing interest in my saga. Two separate SmartCards for the two machines. I guess the odds of them both being defective are a bit long. I definitely will buy the software and the reader. Thanks. John John Are they downloading your data from the new card that came with th...

JL....I don't own the Encore Pro software yet. All I'm going off is print outs of the past 4 weeks data from the Dr and the DME. I do plan to buy the card reader and install MyEncore ASAP. [quote="JL"]John To followup on a few earlier post: ...have you tried another smartcard? ...have you tried inst...

A further update: I tried a Mirage Full Face Mask last night to see if that would solve any potential leak/mouthbreathing incidents. But I had another crappy night with virtually no compliance hours. I am totally confused and frustrated. Is there anyplace else to try to find an answer to this? The R...

Re: 64,000 $ question ...
[quote="dsm"]64,000 $ question ... Unfotunately, no. If I felt great I'd be quick to just write this off to crappy software. I DID feel great during that first block of 5 nights where I was getting 7 hrs of therapy a night, but definitely am sagging following the days where I only record a couple mi...

What do the starting and ending times on the reports look like? Do the starting times agree with the actual time you put it on?.....also the ending times.....? The start and end times on the "good" nights when I show compliance are very accurate: generally beginning between 10pm-11pm and ending bet...

No, whenever I wake up, the machine is still blowing air. [quote="Anonymous"]The machine has an auto off feature. When the patient takes the mask off for more than a few seconds the machine shuts off automatically. Could it be that you have massive leaks causing the machine to turn off automatically...

confusing Smart Card results, dr baffled....can anyone help?
Hi....this is my first post on here, so please excuse me when I delve into issues you've probably hashed over a thousand times before. I'm really confused and frustrated over my recent CPAP/APAP experiences and would be awfully grateful to anyone who might be able to help. I was diagnosed with OSA i...
