Re: nasal mask is burning the inside of my nose

Use Ayr Nasal Gel inside each nostril and see if increasing the setting on the humidifier by one number helps. I had your problem when I first started using my machine...I found these suggestions to be my solution. You may find that gradually increasing the humidifier setting one number each night i...

Re: My numbers are "speaking" to me!

You could try a different chinstrap. I, too, had a problem with a slipping chinstrap when I first started xpap 15 months ago. After trying 3 different chinstraps I found the Tiara Ruby. Bingo, it worked like magic...and no slippage! I've been using a Ruby ever since...14 months now. If you want a Ru...

Re: Data from me :)

Your AHI is 6.8 with an average of 7 showing on your summary page. An AHI of less than 5 is considered normal...mine runs less that 1.0. You should check the rated leak for your mask (found in the user manual for your mask)...excessive leakage could account for your above normal AHI.

Re: OptiLife Hose Clip

MurphysLaw, I keep my hose clip at the very bottom of my mask hose, where it is when I get the mask from the DME.

Treesap, that's very generous of you! I have pm'd my address to you. Thank you!!!

OptiLife Hose Clip

Does anybody other than me have a problem with the durability of the hose clip that's on the OptiLife mask? The hose clip on my last 2 OptiLife masks only lasted a couple of months and then the end on one side of the metal bar that runs through the spring broke off, thus rendering the clip useless b...

I originally had the Encoreviewer software loaded on one of my XP machines. When that machine was taken out in May by lightening, I loaded the software on my new Vista machine. I haven't had any problems running the software with Vista...I wish I could say the same about some of my other software.

My Tiara Ruby works perfectly for me. If it's pulled up onto the chin just below the lower lip there shouldn't be any lip fluttering, etc.

I started with a CPAP on 10/1/07, two months, five masks, and 3 different chinstraps later I had my second follow-up appointment with my sleep doc. During this appointment I was a basket case. I sat crying because I was tired due to the fact that I was mouth breathing with my machine (thus the reaso...

I have been using a chinstrap nightly since Oct. 07. I tried two different ones unsuccessfully until lots of research led me to the Tiara Ruby. It totally works for me, no slipping or sliding on my head, it's taut enough to keep my lips together yet it's comfortable. The Ruby comes in 3 sizes (S, M,...

Re: Smartcard Problem

I know I've seen this problem posted here before but now that *I* need it of course I can't find it. Since December I have had a working smartcard along with the Encoreveiwer 1.0 software. Just today when I attempted to download my card I got a "Smartcard does not contain any available therapy data...

Thank you all for your suggestions. I attempted to read the card using the software on another computer...same thing. After installing the card utility found on mycpap.org I used it to move the card data to my PC as a bin file; which took quite a bit of time so that leads me to believe the info is t...

Yup, had the flu shot just as I have every year for the last 10 years.
