I felt the same way - and woke up angry every morning. Because of a recommendation on a forum I bought a 25 dollar feather/down pillow at Target. Now I can sleep on my side and the mask just sinks in - most pillows are hard enough to push the mask out of place. I've now had 4 good nights of sleep. L...

I take anti-depressants and Neurontin. Both are prescribed for pain now, but I have also taken them in the past for depression and mild bipolar. It will be interesting to see if cpap eases your psych symptoms over time. It is logical it should, since lack of rem sleep causes all kinds of crazy thoug...

I am sorry to have started off so clumsily with everyone. The first 2 months of cpap have been hell for me. I've slept less and been a lot less pleasant to be around. And, I'm spending a lot of money that I don't have. When this frustration has spilled over into my posts, I am sorry. This experience...

I am a side sleeper and tried two different masks until I read on here about feather/down pillows. I got one and have now having no problems sleeping on my side. The feather/down pillow (I got mine from Target for 25 dollars) is one of the few shapeable and soft enough to allow the mask to sink into...

Scuba Steve, Good luck with your Frankenstein mask. I have posted several times that a good scuba gear mfg could do good job on masks. That's just my hunch, I'm not real experienced with diving. I am very disappointed with the cost of these. Please post back and include photos of what you come up wi...

Wow, a DME person right here in front of us. And, I am up late looking for a snack! Truthfully, I appreciate you being here and telling your side of it both as a professional and a consumer of these devices. I would not mind paying a fellow cpap patient. You might have invaluable advice from your ow...

I wasn't putting down the clear consequences of SA on people. I was reacting to the implication that there were family issues involved (well, with 7 kids, I guess there would be) My wife wanted me to quit - I have hardly gotten any rest in over 2 months of being on cpap. This has made me a bear to l...

Hey guys, let me APOLOGIZE for tooting my horn like I was the first person ever to discover the target pillow!! I was just so excited to wake up and realize that I had slept through the entire night. I guess I was sort of on a high Yes, target is like walmart (except Rosie shops @ Target) I am sure ...

with the right pillow there is hope
I doubt that anyone else here has been as negative about their CPAP as I have been. I still hate it. My family was even asking me to quit cpap because I have been getting much less sleep in the 2 months since starting. I have been a bear to live with. Last night I got the first 8 hours of sleep I ha...

don't be so quick to judge
Please don't make assumptions that people who quit cpap have family issues because they have children. It seemed like the poster was saying he did not care about them. That is an awful thing to say to a person new to cpap. My family was asking me to quit cpap because I have been getting much less sl...

try target pillow?
Hey Guy, I've been wondering how my doc would look wearing the mask! Tonight I bought a new pillow from target. $25. has both down & feathers and can be shaped to any contour you want. My memory foam pillow and regular pillow were both pulling my mask off. I could not sleep sideways. This pillow hel...

wow - real honesty without machos jumping in
It is very refreshing to read people's honest opinions posted here without having them stepped on by older users. This is a big adjustment. I am on another board where many new users seem to get bullied and belittled. But, that happens in almost every support forum. Some folks like to prove they are...

you and me both
I feel the same damn way you do. I am sleeping so much worse now. I make it 2-4 hours, then I get up and whiz. It's really hard to put it back on. I want a few good hours of sleep!! I've made 5 hours once and 6 hours another time. That's after 2 months. keep trying, keep trying ... ah ___ it! (just ...

Did a DVD come with your REMstar Plus M Series?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone else have a Respironics REMstar Plus M Series? Did a DVD come with yours?
I would think, given the complexity of the machines and the high quit rate that a DVD with extra information would come with it. Mine did not. How about yours?
thanks!
