changing machines, which one to get?
My Remstar Pro M series machine isn't working properly, and if it can't be repaired, I may be replacing it. What would be the best one to get, if I have a choice? I have had this one for about 5 years now. Thank you for any advice anyone has to offer.

Re: OT - Curious how/why people chose their nickname
The names I tried were all taken, the one I chose speaks for itself. I think I may have been tired when I chose it...it's kind of boring. As for the avatar, I have a bluebird tattoo on my ankle, and a bluebird represents happiness.

Software upgrade for card reader?
Went from windows XP to windows 7 on a new computer, and the software for my card reader is not compatible for this computer. Is there an upgrade or different version available for Infineer smart card reader that works with windows7?

Re: Proof Positive!
I hope this is a reminder to any others who think it's OK to nap without their cpap. Thank you for the reminder. I'm guilty of dozing on the couch, sitting up, while watching tv. Before cpap, I would take naps, laying down, would wake up aware that I could not take a breath...and momentarily strugg...

Re: WHY?
I have done this, however, when I walked past the mirror, I scared myself.About having to go to the bathroom. Why not disconnect the hose from the mask at the coupler and wear the mask to the bathroom? Or am I really overthinking this one?

Re: Poll... curious about how many CPAP users smoke.
I voted "I quit smoking before CPAP", which was 38 years ago and I started cpap treatment 2 1/2 years ago...I smoked from the time I was 16 until age 36 (now 74). I had pneumonia and was smoking while I was ill, gagging on the cigarettes (pretty stupid), that's when I decided to quit, cold turkey, n...

Re: WANTED: A FFM that doesn't leave a red stripe
I use the Mirage Quattro, which has a dial for forehead support...it reduces pressure on the bridge of the nose, as it can be adjusted by turning the dial after you have it in place, at least it did for me. I rarely have a red mark on the bridge of my nose. Before using this full face mask, I used n...

When I first read the title of your post Re: YES! YesyesyesyesyesYES!!!!! I thought it was a quote from the "Harry Met Sally" movie (the famous restaurant scene) Seriously, I'm glad you are getting the right treatment due to your own persistence. This forum is an invaluable source of information. I ...

It's my birthday
My first birthday wish of the day was from Cpaptalk.com....thank you! 74 today, feeling good, probably better than if my OSA had not been diagnosed. More energy and improved memory. ( And I wanted to see the little cake by my post ) http://s408.photobucket.com/albums/pp163/mmc321/?action=view¤...

Re: CPAP setting change legality
but is changing your CPAP settings REALLY illegal? I guess I should be arrested, if it's illegal. A while back, when I needed a replacement machine from DME (mine was having a problem), they delivered the CPAP machine set at the wrong pressure...8 instead of 10. With the help of the kind people on ...

Re: OSA and SIDS
I worked for a pediatric pulmonary dept. at a university hospital as a "pneumogram technician" (retired in 1996). The pneumogram would show abnormal apnea, decreases in heart rate (bradycardia) and periodic breathing, there was a range of what was normal and abnormal. Along with significant apnea, I...
