Mine was 117 with 74% average SpO2 sats and a low of 36%. Scary.NeedSomeAir wrote:Mine was 19 and I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. So an AHI can be greater than 91?? I suppose someone with that kind of index would need a cpap 24 hours a day just to stay alive. WOW.

Re: How dumb was this?
Could one of those "toilets" have actually been a bidet? Or maybe a previous owner replaced a bidet with a toilet, not understanding the difference. No, neither toilet was a bidet. They were positioned directly face to face.......should a person be sitting on each toilet, knees would have touched o...

I can only think that you obviously have no compassion for other human beings, whatever their political background or even misguided acts, and suggest you try your machine tonight with the humidifier on high - times 100. I challenge you to closely watch NatGeoTV on May 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m...

Re: What does cpap do to eyes?
A simple solution for the air leaking in the eyes is one of those soft sleeping blindfolds, like those sold here, for example: http://www.dreamessentials.com Now THAT would complete the "mummy" look we are all after when we go to bed: Pap-Cap, big chin strap, blindfolds, mask, headgear, pantyhose su...

Re: Blood Pressure Drop
Joe.... What you are experiencing is very common. Sleep Apnea causes stress....and stress causes high BP. You're on your way to recovery. Gerald True, but more important, lack of oxygen during the night causes strains on all internal organs, two of them being the kidneys. Pre-CPAP, I used to "take ...

Again, the IntelliPap does that.Goofproof wrote:If the Lcd would show the pressure being delivered to the mask circuit, in real time that would be useful, at least for checking to see if the machine is still working correctly.

Re: New Features for CPAP machines?
If you could add any feature that you wanted to a xPAP machine, what would it be? I think I'd add the following items/data Conventional method of storing data...SD card, Thumb drive, CF card, etc. The smart card is just a pain. Readers are expensive. Port for a O2 sat monitor. With a O2 sat monitor...

Shoulder pain? Not anymore!
For about a year after I started my CPAP therapy, I would wake up with sharp pain in my shoulders/rotator cuffs and the paid would stay throughout the whole day. I went to the orthopaedist, he couldn't find anything wrong with it, except inflammation of the ligaments with no explanation for it. Then...

Re: New Device to Render CPAP Obsolete
I'm not sure I would be able to sleep much being hit in the arm 117 times per hour (my AHI at PSG) with 80 volts shocks. This seems like a "reactive" mechanism, not a preventative one. Therefore, I must have the apnea for a while for my SpO to go down, to trigger the oximeter, to trigger the taser.....
