Re: I Want OFF!!
I have been using CPAP since January 24, 2005. I have been compliant and I know it has helped me to get the sleep that I need. I have severe OSA AHI 67.2. But I really want to get off this machine. I am my weight now is 210, I need to get down to 140 and the ENT thinks I have an excellent shot at g...

Re: question for Rested Gal or anyone??????
Hi Guys, I'm desperate for some advice. I have been tinkering with my pressures on my Resmed Auto Spirit and these are my results. Straight cpap set at 14 Ahi 5.7 Hi 5.4 Ai .3 since this gave me not a bad result I set my machine to Auto with a min pressure 13 and a maximin pressure on 16. The next ...

Re: Still Snoring
Although my AHI was 4.4 and the Acoustical Vibration (Snoring) index was 1.6 with my new Activa without the chip strap with my 420S, my wife complained that I woke her up snoring. I will try the chipstrap tonight but it kept me up the first night so I hope that I can get use it. If this doesn't wor...

DME, what to expect
I am in the market for a GOOD DME company. I am dealing with two not to hot ones now. Company number one can not keep their book work right. The respotory tech broght me my swift, and told me she had NEVER seen a swift mask before! She has never provided more than one mask to try, and misfitted me f...

Re: DME told me "Auto PAP suck!" Is this true?
I was told that if a person has severe apnea (I have 70/hr untreated) the machine possibly could have difficulty keeping up. By the time it detects an apnea, and ups the pressure to the appropriate one, your need could reduce. Then, when you need less pressure, it still is at the higher pressure. I...

I tried the new Activa with the larger chin strap last night and I didn't sleep well. The chin strap was too tight on the ear. I kept on adjusting the Activa during the night because I thought that it was leaking. My results was that my AHI was in the 30s when it is normally below 7 but my acoustic...

Re: just don't see cpap as viable
Just finished a sleep study that took two nights to complete. The recommendation is a cpap machine. Sounds pretty fishy to me. First, The cpap titration kept me awake all night anyway. It is cumbersome and is physically impossible to get used to nor can i stand the stench of the mask. It smelled li...

Re: REMstar Auto w/C-flex Pressure Vairations
Hi, I just got my cpap 6 days ago and I have some questions my clueless rep from the medical supply company can't answer. My doctor said that I have a "moderate" OSA (whatever that means) and he prescribed the auto with a range of 6cm - 15cm, which seems like a pretty wide range to me. Anyway, I've...

I think the leak rate depends on the exhaust valve size on the mask. Some of my ff masks have larger holes than others. There will always be a leak rate. A good nite for me is in the lower to mid 30s with a real flat line on the graph.I notice that if my pressure spikes on my auto much, there is us...

As I posted in the other thread, all masks will show a leak rate because of the exhaust port. And as the pressure rises on an auto, usually the leak rate will too. If i'm having a high pressure nite, I have to strap my FF down tighter. Yes, the higher the pressure the higher the leak rate. A copy f...

Re: Activa Vs. FlexiFit
has anyone tried both of these masks? Any thoughts on the differences? I haven't tried both masks, have tried FlexFit 407. I have used this mask for several days. From what I understand the 407 is smaller than the 405. My doc suggested this mask because he said it was good for side sleeping. Info f...

average leak rate
I have been looking into my average leak rate, and wrtoe about this in the: "Well last night was my turn for frustration " topic. After taping my mouth last night, and having a higher leak rate I feel that I do NOT have mouth leaks I will change my hose and see if this brings down my leak rate. I ha...

Sew Tired, that's more leak than I'd want to see on my graph, with any mask. With mouth taped, or with the DYI mouth guard (either one) my average leak is in the low twenties, often below. You average is double that. I'd strongly suspect mouth air leaking or mouth breathing IF you are pretty sure y...

The FlexiFit HC407 Nasal Mask, I have others, but am trying to do testing, so am trying to use just this mask. My main concern is that I wake up in the night. Some nights more than others. Therefore wondering if I open my mouth and this makes me wake up.th wrote:I'mSewTired......What mask are you using?
