Re: Anyone else have this nightmare?
I don't think that my starting pressure is too low; it's over 10. And I've been on the hose long enough to dispel most of my anxiety, so I don't think it's that either. I looked at my data and I had a bunch of hypos -- like 5 or 6 in a row -- right before I woke up. Any idea what this means -- or wh...

Anyone else have this nightmare?
I have this recurring nightmare that I am suffocating. Funny, but I never had this dream before CPAP. It's always the same. In my dream, I am wearing my mask and cannot breathe. I try to wake my partner by frantically calling her name, but she won't wake up. I claw at my mask, but I can't get it off...

Re: CPAP Mask on Cable TV Series?
It was mentioned on "The Office," too. I think Angela has sleep apnea (but maybe it's Dwight).

Re: Need Help with Numbers
Thanks, Rested Gal. I'll read through those links –- and in the meantime, I'll work on posting a screen shot to see if there's anything obvious I'm missing.

Need Help with Numbers
Hello, all. I've been on CPAP for more than a year, but I can't seem to get my AHI down to anything close to the magical 5.0. My AI is about 2 or more per night on average, and my HI is about 10 and up. My leak rate is fairly low -- though it varies -- and I'm trying to keep it under control with th...

"New" Swift LT Pillows & Leaks
I believe this has been covered in other threads (which is how I found out about this phenomenon). I've been having major problems with leaks on my last couple of LT masks. After consulting this board, I found the culprit: the flimsy new pillows RedMed is now using. But last night I found the origin...

AI Too High?
Howdy, folks. Haven't posted in awhile. I'm using the ResMed Vantage with a Swift mask -- every night for about 6 or 7 hours -- which, believe me, was a struggle to get there. But I've noticed my AI is consistently over 3. (My HI is often over 10, but I've chosen to focus on my AI for now.) I was di...

Thanks for all your input. I'm inclined to think the in-lab sleep test is more accurate than the take-home in that it was done manually by a tech. He showed me my chart and it was amazing to see what an apnea looks like – and how smooth my breathing was on the CPAP. But one night in the lab is admit...

An Exchange With My Kaiser Doctor
I had a question for my doctor which I'm not sure he fully answered. In short, I did a take-home test with the Vantage and was titrated at 11. Did a follow-up test in the Kaiser lab and the tech titrated me at 6! Here is my question: Hi, Dr. xxx. Been using the CPAP at 6 and still struggling with it...

As far as I know, Kaiser will not issue APAPs to anyone – just the bare-bones M-Series Plus, which is awfully loud. If you want one, it's out of pocket. Like I said, the old Remstar Auto "tank" seems to be discontinued – at least at every brick & mortar DME I've called in the L.A. area. And I can't ...

Well, I think I'm stuck with my doctor, so the question remains: where do I go from here? I've requested my sleep study from Kaiser. So far I'm waiting to receive an authorization form from the medical records department – and then I have to wait another two weeks for them to pull it up and send it....

Thanks for your input. I agree that the APAP numbers are not going to be as accurate as a sleep study – especially if it has a high sensitivity to HIs as I believe my Autoset Vantage does. But I'm not feeling much better after a month – though I haven't yet been able to sleep all night, every night ...
