Hello Again,
I have a Resmed Autoset II and carrying case. I tried to put the Resmed Autoset II in the carrying case to go on a trip, but I can't figure out how to make it fit properly.
can anyone point me to a picture or explain how to pack it properly?
Thank you

How to clean a Resmed autoset II water chamber?
Hi Everyone, I have a Resmed autoset II with humidifier, and ever though I use distilled water only, it has accumulated a dark residue on the bottom of the floor of the chamber. The hole is too small to stick anything through, but if I take a q-tip, I can write my name in the bottom of the chamber i...

Re: Can you be weaned off a CPAP?
Over the last few weeks I've set the minimum pressure lower on my APAP than it's been in 5 years. I feel like it is more comfortable, and I'm sleeping better. I don't know if this has anything to do with weaning or requiring less pressure, but it seems to be working for me. I'm thinking the lower th...

Re: Can you be weaned off a CPAP?
A lot of times they put my mother-in-law's ventilator on "CPAP Mode". They are just blowing air into her as they train her to breathe on her own. If you can't get off CPAP entirely, I wonder if reducing pressure over time might help better develop the muscles to keep your airways open or at least st...

Can you be weaned off a CPAP?
I got this idea from my mother-in-law who has been on a ventilator for a few months. The docs are trying to wean her off so she would breathe on her own. Can a CPAPer be weaned off a CPAP machine? Maybe by slowly reducing the pressures over a period of time. Just like a ventilator weaning develops t...

Re: Dry lips / mouth started after 5 years on APAP
I found out what my problem was and I wanted to report it here in case anyone else experiences the same situation: My 5½ year old Respironics M Series Autopap was malfunctioning and blowing a much higher pressure than my setting required. This was causing me to open my mouth when it would normally b...

Re: Dry lips / mouth started after 5 years on APAP
I tried using a nasal pillow for a few days but could not get it to seat in my nares well. So I'm back to my trusty Activa. I've never had the dry lips before. Could that be caused by anything other than mouth breathing? My mouth is really dry too so I know it sounds like I'm mouth breathing all of ...

Dry lips / mouth started after 5 years on APAP
I've been using CPAP for 5 years and all of a sudden I'm getting really dry lips and dry mouth. My first thought was mouth breathing causing this but it seems strange because I haven't done it before and I'm a 5 year user. I already use a heated humidifier. Could there be another problem at work her...

Re: Dental appliance vs nasal surgery?!?
Thanks all for your advice. I was thinking if I could breath through my mouth better, it would help my limitied nasal breathing. However, most of the time my mouth is completely shut. I use a activia nasal mask now which seems to work OK, but I can tell I have limited nasal breathing. I'd like to be...

Dental appliance vs nasal surgery?!?
I've been using a CPAP with nasal mask for 5 years, but my new sleep doc tells me that he thinks my main apnea problem is caused from my narrow nasal passage, deviated septum, oversize turbinates, etc. He suggests surgery to open up my nasal passage and I may not even need to use CPAP. I've heard ho...

Re: Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow Noisy?
I didn't get an answer so I thought I'd try again. The manufacturer advertises how quiet the Swift Nasal pillow II is. However, mine seems to be very noisey, like maybe 10 times noiser than my Activa nasal mask. Does anyone else use this Swift Nasal Pillow mask? Is it noisey for you? Maybe I'm not u...

Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow Noisy?
I just started using a Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow mask. I was using an Activa. The Mirage seems a lot less intrusive on my face. However, I find the Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow to be noisy. I'm wondering if I'm using it right. It seems like a lot of air blows out of the pressure relief holes unde...

What's the best APAP to buy?
Hi everyone,
I'm a member back from 2005. I've had a REMStar AutoPap for 5+ years and would like to buy a new, more updated machine. I use a humidifier, too. What's the best machine out there now thats a quiet, reliable, APAP?
Thanks for your help!
