thanks again rested gal for your valued comments. I do like my doctor, I never had a doctor that spent an hour with me and he will call back same day when I call for help. Having said that he looked at me in shock when I told him I bought the resmed software to monitor my progress. I don't believe h...

Thanks rested gal. I contacted my doctor and he doesn't write prescriptions for autos. He told me that they are not approved (forget the name of the association he mentioned) and that they are not yet reliable. So I guess I am stuck with the elite. I don't think the issue is with the exhale, but the...

Aerophagis need help!

I have been on CPAP since September. After about two months I really made great progress. I finally found my mask, the headrest, which I love. I got my numbers down below 2, with help of side sleeping. However, in the last week, I started getting bloating, gas pains at night due to aerophagia. Final...

Slinky I experienced this feeling for a few years on nightly basis the last year before I decided to go on CPAP. This was fully associated with the apneas the feeling of suffication and the adreniline pumping through me as my body alerted me to fact I was suffocating. I thought I had anxiety attacks...

Settings for Headrest on Resmed S8 Elite

I expect my Headrest nasal pillow to show up today. What would the settings on the RESMED S8 Elite be. I suspecdt that I would use the Swift settings? Thanks to all the past posting on how to modify the Headrest (aura). Looking first to use the rubber band fix and then see if that works before takin...

I've had a beard for about 12 years, it is short cropped so with my Liberty I use Mack's silicon putty around the mask seal. Works like a charm. Though looking forward to my Headrest nasal pillow to arrive tomorrow.

Need recommendation for Nasal Pillow Mask for side sleeper

I have been using the Liberty with good results, but want to have another option of a nasal pillow mask. I ordered the Swift II and like it much, but I can't sleep on my side without pillows coming out. Tried fixes to no avail. I heard about the Opus having good success with side sleepers. Are there...

Liberty question

I tried the Swift II but thinking of going back to my Liberty. The liberty doesn't work for me as a side sleeper and I was starting to get good results with the liberty. Just wanted to see what it would be like to have a nose pillow only. Like some things about it, but with mouth taping and chin str...

I take it off every morning. Roll it back in a ball and put it back in the plastic box. I have used the same silicon roll for a week at a time with it as effective as the first time. So far I only throw it out and get a new plug since just for hygene reasons, thinking one week on my face it should b...

I use Mack's silicon ear plugs. Can find in most pharmacies. Comes in a 4 or 16 box. They last a while. Works really well for seal on my liberty mask.

I use the Liberty similar to the Hybrid. My pressure is set at 16.6. I originally was 15 asked to be upped by doc to 16, then took in my own hands to incrementally up it .2 at time until 16.8 I have readings of AHI now 2-4. I am able to use the liberty with the Mac's silicon flattened around mask to...

Thanks to all for such quick responses to my questions. If I had asked the DME or Doctor same questions (of course I would have to try on Monday) it would take forever. Hence this site is sooo valuable to my progress on CPAP. I don't think I will fiddle with either the EPR or smartstart. I have a la...

Need help on RESMED S8 Elite Menu items

I have the S8 Elite. Of course the DME didn't give me the clinical menu book or ability to change pressure, ect on my own. At least that is how she explained it when she gave me the CPAP. However, with guidance from site, I was able to go into the menu and change pressure which greatly helped my res...

Yes, I use earplugs! Actually, they have been the reason I haven't shaved off my beard. Only way to get a real good seal with a short cropped beard is to use the flattened bead on the mask. works like a charm.

I have done the same using either band aids or medical tape similar to other posts. Worked like a charm until I had to replace my liberty the other day due to broken elbow piece (squeezed too hard). An obvious defect. Not sure why but having leak from one of the nasal pillows even with the fix. May ...
