Re: New Dentures and Cpap mask-Help
I can't help with the mask problem, but do have an answer to help heal your gums. Buy some Natural (not synthetic) Vitamin E capsules. Pierce the soft cap with a needle and squeeze the oil onto your finger and apply to the raw/sore area. (Please make sure the area is not infected.) My gums healed so...

Re: Getting dentures while using sleep mask
Are you having the extractions done all at once or in stages? If it's stages you should be okay. As for having them done all at once I don't know the answer. Someone here will be able to help.

This is the best place for information. I mentioned this site to my dme and they are now referring their patients here to get additional info.

Re: My "gear" is off every a.m. for a week-suggestions?
When I had my first sleep study the RT told me that I would probably wake up with the mask off, and the machine running. Said it was perfectly normal for people trying to get used to the cpap machine.

Wake up during apnea?
Seems I wake up suddenly (like 3a.m.). I'm not gasping for breath. Could I possibly be waking up during an apnea event? Last night numbers were leak 38, ahi 4.2, ai 0.3.
Thanks, Pat

Hi, If your machine is leased don't buy it under any circumstances. Make them replace it. Remind them that it should have a two year warranty. I'd push for a replacement. My s8 is so quiet sometimes my hubby wonders if I turned it on. I had a mask fitting once where they were using a machine that ha...

Chosing new Bipap
I just had my second sleep study Thursday (split study). Friday they called and said the Dr had written a script for a bipap. I have no other info at this time.(talk about fast. I was expecting the results to take weeks). Now the questions. Will my ins company pay for a bipap? I have only had a cpap...

If you have red marks the mask is to tight. Loosen the straps. Turning the dial out tilts the mask on the lower half. Turning the dial in adjusts the area around the bridge of your nose. I just got one a few weeks ago and I think it's going to be one of my keepers. I forget who it was, but someone o...

sososleepy, Have you tried the Mirage Activa mask? It's one I keep returning to. I also have decent luck with the swift, but like most of us we are ALL looking for that "magic" mask. All we can do is keep trying and trading until we find that one mask that fits us "just so". By the time I find mine ...

Aussie Heated Hose, frozen nose
I am waking up with "frozen nose" and use half a box of tissues daily for a runny nose. I use Ayr saline nasal gel and Lansinoh. I put the hose (with fleece cover) under my pillow for warmup before I go to bed. Between midnight and 2 a.m. I awaken with cold air blowing into my nose. Usually the hose...

Jeff, Slinky is right. Return it fast! My dme sold me a compact saying it was top of the line. I found this message board and learned otherwise. I returned it for an S8 Elite. I told them I needed a machine that would give me the ability to check my results. They informed me how much more money it w...
