Thanks for all the replies. Its nice to know I am not the only one. At first it seemed strange that I could have sleep apnea and insomnia at the same time but it makes some sense now. I dont think I am suffering from depression, I am a pretty upbeat person, but then I have no idea what the symptoms ...

Hi all I have had a CPAP machine for several months now but am still struggling to use it as I suffer from insomnia so find it difficult to fall asleep with it on. Thanks for the advice guys, when I get to speak to the doc next I will find out some more info. Unfortunatley 6 months was the earliest they could give me so may have to wait a while.

Hi Whats a DME? I am kept awake by a mixture of discomfort, claustrophobia, feeling like I am sleeping in a draft, bloating you name it it bothers me. I do have a 20 minute ramp on the machine but it doesn't help. I have a follow up appointment at the hospital in 5 months to see how I am doing! Jon

I am 28, 6'3" and wheigh 210 pounds.

I a not exactly a chiseled adonis but never consider myself fat, the main problem I have is that whieght always goes on to my face and neck first so trying to loose a few pounds to see if helps me at all.
