Re: Advice on M-Series Auto CPAP c/w A-Flex
I've been using the M series Auto w/Aflex since last June. I've never run out of water but then it's set at only 2. And I've never missed data except for the nights where I've forgotten to put the stinking card back in the machine.

Re: CPAP versus Auto PAP
I switched to an APAP machine last June. I'm still trying to dial it in. In my case it turns out that I have good weeks and bad weeks and trying out settings for less than two weeks at a time isn't very productive. I am using a spreadsheet to track my settings and daily results. I started with strai...

Re: New CPAP Cost Questions
Do a search here on the forum and find out what your prescription should preferably say. If you can get a script for an auto machine that's data capable and the software to go with it that would be best. You can do a lot better than $1200 by shopping cpap.com. I spent a little over $800 last year to...

Re: Poll: How many machines in how many years?
I started out with the DME issued Respironics M series Plus which did not support a Smart Card and efficacy data. So last year I purchased the M series Auto with a card reader and software out of my own pocket. It was worth it. Now I have the data to monitor and adjust my therapy as needed. I certai...

Re: To tape or not to tape: is it worth it?
I absolutely tape. Didn't take long before I became so comfortable with it that it feels awkward without it. I may do what rested gal did and try not using it to see what happens. That will have to wait for a while though as I'm experimenting with the range of my APAP therapy right now. I don't want...

Re: Recovery from Septoplasty
I had mine done years before I went on xPAP. But you're right. I was absolutely positively miserable until they pulled the splints out. Not much you can do except hang in there. The good news is that breathing will be much, much better after you've healed. I hardly felt the splint removal. No pain a...

LOL! I hadn't either. I don't have a FF mask yet but I'm thinking about getting one. I'll keep this info in mind.kteague wrote:somehow didn't tune in to the potential effect of the pressurized air in that scenario.

Re: Still hate my CPAP
What is it that is bothering you? Is it too much air, too little air, uncomfortable mask? It does take some getting used to and it takes longer for some than others. Is your wife being supportive?

Re: How often do you check your sleep data
I've been on therapy for just over two years now, but much of that was without a data-capable machine. Since I bought the APAP (and got the software and reader) in June, I've become a data junkie. I check it every morning. Hey BleepingBeauty, we're just about on the same time line. I started CPAP A...

Re: suffocating with nasal pillows
I use nasal pillows and the only time I feel that way is if I'm congested.

Re: travelling with CPAP machine
I ALWAYS carry it on in it's own case. I've never had any problems whatsoever. The TSA personnel always recognize it for what it is. Several times I've been asked to take it out of the case prior to x-ray. Other times they run it through in the case. The big plastic bag is a good idea. I didn't know...

I hang it on the headboard along with my chinstrap.
