Re: fatigue with CPAP
Please fill out your profile. Is your machine data capable? Do you have the software and monitor your therapy? How long has it been since you changed out your mask? If you are using a nasal mask could you be mouth breathing? Have you gained weight or lost weight where your pressure needs have change...

Re: How long do you give a mask before
Masks are subjective in my opinion. The DME's fit you according their best guesstimate. No one mask fits everyone, feels the best for everyone, and provides the best therapy for everyone. That is why there is so many different options when it comes to masks and fitting is a luck of the draw in many ...

Re: Newbie repeating questions to understand lingo and some frus
For some reason, understanding the very patient explanations here is not happening easily for me. I have tried looking for topics because I see where things get ask repeatedly (including by me-sorry) but I get overwhelmed. Maybe it's just me, but maybe it's not. so, 1. I still can't understand what...

Re: How do you feel when you fall asleep without CPAP?
I have used my machine every night except for a few power outages. The next day I feel horrible, headaches, sluggish, can't think straight, tire easily -- I think you get the picture. The same feelings I had precpap and know that cpap is why I feel so much better now.

Re: 3 years without a good mask fit
How many masks have you tried? When I started I used the Fisher and Paykel 431. I couldn't understand why anyone would want to use nasal pillows, nasal prongs, or other types of masks. I settled in to my therapy and then tried an Optilife mask. It tooks some getting used to and I didn't care for the...

Re: OT: Wheelchair Cushions vs Apnea Pillows
To me it appears that the wheelchair cushions prices are not that far off target -- especially your example Slinky. If overstock can sell them at a reasonable cost then why can't sleep apnea pillows be priced accordingly. Just my opinion $60.00 for a pillow for sleep apnea is ridiculous, especially ...

Resmed S9 Ponderings
It appears that I have met my deductible for the year. I have purchased two masks through insurance and my M series Apap with C-flex in 2007. All other supplies, masks, and machines I have purchased out of pocket. One reason is that I had switched to my employers insurance and it has a high deductib...

Re: ResMed advertising dodginess?
This is a guess and I haven't seen one, except for pics -- but could that be the humidifier setting instead of a clock. The reason I suggest that is the markings "on the clock".

Re: sleep apnea & deviated septum
I had a deviated septum fixed in 1990. If I had it to do over, I would leave well enough alone. It was horrible and recovery was slow. It was suppose to be done on an outpatient. I ended up having to stay 4 days in the hospital. Funny thing is my 2 year old granddaughter headbutted me in May of 2011...

Thank you carbonman for being there for us. We are so very sorry to hear about your mom. It is very difficult to lose a parent!! You are never really ready for them to go. I was thinking of you just the other day, in fact very selfishly thinking how I miss your pictures of the mountains!! Unfortunat...

Re: I'm just so tired (waiting for machine)
When I had my titration study they asked me which DME I wanted to use. I told them I would use the one associated with the hospital. I had my titration and after a few days the doctor called and said she had my script and paperwork for me to pick up (this was my primary care physician as she ordered...

Re: OT: Permanent hair removal ideas needed
Pugsy I am glad you posted on this topic actually --- so thanks!! It is in our gene pool that my brothers are very hairy and my sons inherited that trait. But the downside to it is -- so did I. I started with random stray hairs in the beard area in my thirties -- no big deal -- just pluck and go. Ov...

Congratulations zoo!! I am glad that things and getting better for you. The only times I have not used my machine is due to power failure. Last summer we had a big storm that tore our power line out. I was without power for several days (don't remember now the exact number). Boy was it tough not usi...
