My least favorite mask. I think I have 5 now. I am not too tolerant of any full face masks, but the 431 was a bad leaker for me. Nose pillows saved me, and I use the Activa when/if my nares get sore.

Day snoring/snorting
After 6 months & 5 masks, I have become so used to my apap that I cannot sleep without it. In my last post, my nose was killing me, so I now rotate among an Aura, Breeze, Swift and occasionally an Activa. Nose is OK most of the time. I have Derek's software, and the SI (Snore index) seems quite low,...

My nose is killing me!
I have been using a Breeze with medium nose pillows for about 3 months. I have a ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face as a back up as well as a Swift I have only used once. My machine is a C-Flex AutoPap. I use KY to help soothe my nose while using the Breeze, but the soreness has been getting progressivel...

Where is MyEncore?
What happened to the "sticky" at the top of the board? I see someone looked for 15 minutes and couldn't find a link. The link on the FAQ at cpap.com is broken, but there is something about MyEncore and the new FAQ that is coming at cpap.com. I see that somebody has registered myencore.net at registe...

Breeeze nasal pillow life expectancy
How often do you change out your Breeze nose pillows?
I would have bet money that a nasal mask wouldn't work for me, and I'd have lost. My data is excellent (ave. 3 AHI events/night) and I'm not breathing through my mouth.

Turn off the machine during "pitstops"?
I just got MyEncore up & running and I'm wondering if I'm skewing some of the data because I just take the mask off when I go to the bathroom.
First, does that seem likely?
Second, will the Smartcard just pick up where it left off if I start & stop the machine?
Thanks

REMstar Set up Maual on E-Bay (Fool that I am)
I knew I was getting a new REMstar APAP from my DME and anticipated that I would not get the set-up manual, as I had not received one with my CPAP. I ordered one from E-Bay (for $7) only to find out that the RT at my DME was so disorganized that they accidently left the set up manual in the bag. Som...

Closest modifier
Bigcat: The closest modifying noun to the final "it" in my post is the REMstar Auto CPAP. I'm dumb, but not dumb enough to think that Respironics R&D developed an obviously purchased component. I figured I'd get flamed over my comment. My dealers are mostly "Mom & Pop" operations that are getting sq...

Been wrong before . . .
I've been wrong before, I will be again and I might even be wrong now. I'd still ask a lot of questions: Is the warranty the same? Who is backing the warranty? If it doesn't work right out of the box, do you have a reputable company (like cpap.com) and Respironics to replace it? Maybe you're right, ...

What's your time worth?
Pardon me, but has anybody thought about how much all this messing around is costing them? Many self-employed people (like me) charge $50 to $75/hour for their time. I'm sure there are some of you that charge rates much higher than that. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like someone is balking a...

My DME told me that the Breeze was being discontinued. Anyone hear anything about that?

Can you intentionally make a snoring sound?
Wacky, off the wall comment for the evening: I have "fake snored" for my wife on occasion and she will say "that's not the sound I hear." Then I will relax my soft palate and she will say "That's it!" My question, for those of you who share my "gift" is: should I be able to do this with my machine o...

Breeze and APAP
Is it an absolute certainty that I will not be able to use my Breeze with a REMstar Auto C-Flex? I see that cpap.com and the Breeze instruction manual only recommend straight CPAP machines. I know I can set the Auto to straight CPAP. I assume that isn't difficult to do the change.
Thanks again.

Helping Doc to prescribe APAP
Thanks to many helpful people I am beginning my odyssey, attempting to get an APAP. My doctor is perfectly willing to prescribe (he already has) a REMstar Auto C-Flex for me. What he didn't do was prescribe the setting(s). My REMstar Plus is programmed for 13 and that has, as I have described, made ...

"High" pressure means more mask leaks?
It seems like a no-brainer: Higher pressure settings mean more mask leaks. Please correct me if I’m mistaken. The next question is: What is high? My friend says “Everyone he knows has a setting of 9 or below.” I have seen one post where the person referenced a setting of 19! My prescription says 13 ...
