Thanks, everyone, for the wealth of info that you have provided here. I just left a message with my doc so that we can discuss this. I'm going to print out these posts and use this information when I speak to him. You guys are great. You're so smart. I guess that's why I have become so addicted to t...

Oh, River Dave, I was on the benzos for maybe 2 years. Had terrible withdrawl when some genius doc snatched me off of them too fast. I had seizures and my blood pressure soared. When I went to see why I was shaking and having crazy symptoms, they rushed me to the hospital in an ambulance. I never wa...

Thank you, Ozij and Socknister. I didn't know that lack of REM meant so much. Thanks for clearing that up for me. My report says that I was asleep 341 minutes. My number of arousals was 186 for greater than 15 seconds. Socknister, I have had severe chronic depression, which was diagnosed 20 years ag...

No REM Sleep? Huh?
I just received my report of my initial sleep study. I know what REM sleep is, but I wonder if "no REM sleep" is an indication of anything other than the fact that I didn't dream during the study. Is that significant?
Thanks

Thanks, guys. I did nap on that day, for four hours, with my mask, and woke up still feeling horrible. Thanks also, Gasp, for your 2 cents. I always get what should be a good night's sleep of 10-12 hours with no interruptions in sleep. Feel horrible when I wake up. Then I get another 4-6 hours worth...

Someone Help My Nose, Please
My first night on APAP caused no problems for my nose the next day. However, last night, my second night, I used the humidifier on 2, and today my nose is very clogged in one nostril, and running like a faucet from the other nostril. It's made me miserable all day. Besides, now I can't taste anythin...

Still Tired, but Better
Hey, Family. I just want to check in. I'm feeling pretty weird. I feel almost wide awake after using my machine for the first 2 nights. I also feel like I can use a nap, but it's not overwhelming. I feel like feeling good is close but just out of reach. I took a nap yesterday, after using machine fo...

A Nice Night and A Nice New Life
My first night was almost perfect. Although I fiddled with the mask several times during the first hour of trying to sleep, once I was asleep, the mask and air actually felt soothing. Now I really feel like one of the cpaptalk family. I'm making the start with my machine the start of a new life for ...

I am so glad that you posted about your good first night. I get my mask and machine tomorrow, and you've made me hopeful that I won't have to fight all night. I did well at the sleep study with the mask, so I anticipate no problems tomorrow night. I'm praying for a good night and to start feeling be...

Getting Machine Friday!Need Advice
Hi, guys. The DME indeed did call today, and I have an appointment for Friday to pick up my machine!!!! They offered to come to my home to set it up, but they couldn't do it until next Wednesday. I don't want to have to wait another 7 days if I don't have to. Is there any problem with them teaching ...
