Re: Headgear is changing my skull???
since wearing these constricting apparatus as much as we do is akin to the custom of binding women's feet as was done in China. That's exactly what I was thinking about when I posted this. I didn't want my head to turn into an unnatural shape like those women's feet. I decided to switch to a differ...

Headgear is changing my skull???
I've been using the Respironics ComfortLite 2 for over a year now. After a while, I started noticing that my skill had indentations where the headgear and straps touch my head, especially where most of the energy is dispersed. This is troubling and hope that it's not causing damage in some way. If I...

doctor vs. apap
He probably believes that the only accurate and worthy numbers are those measured by a sleep clinic. I have to agree with him, that the APAP data could be used as guidance or to alert you to problems, but a sleep clinic is the only way to get an accurate assessment.

You should have the sleep study billing depart to rebill your insurance. They probably put in the wrong code or something else. That has happened to me on other tests and once they bill the insurance correctly it gets paid. Pam That's exactly what happened; they put in the wrong address which had t...

Insurance covers sleep study - minus CPAP titration???
My insurance company covered two nights at the sleep clinic, plus all my CPAP equipment. Yet, they did not cover the CPAP titration. So now I have to pay $400. Why do they think that CPAP titration is something special and not part of the sleep study?

Repironics Profile Lite Gel Mask with Overhead Hose?
I'm thinking of trying to Profile Lite Gel Mask https://www.cpap.com/productpage/profile-lite-gel-mask-respironics.html Looking at the pictures, the headgear doesn't seem to have anywhere to tie the hose above your head to route it away from your body (I sleep on my side/stomach). Has anyone used a ...

I did some adjustments yesterday and it seems to be much quieter now. However, the adjustments made the headgear a little unstable, so I have to play with it again tonight. The large piece that rests on the back of the head needs some getting used to. When on my back, the head rests on it, which is ...

Breeze Nasal Pillow and Noise
I'm a newbie and started using the Breeze head gear with medium nasal pillows. Once I get to the top of the ramp and hit my final 10 cm, things get pretty noisy. I was adjusting the headgear to try and reduce the noise, when I noticed that the noise completely disappeared if I pressed the nasal pill...

Does it hurt the humidifier heater if it runs on dry? Mine was on 2, but I had a dry cough so cranked it up to 4, since I usually use a humidifier in my bedroom when I get this dry cough and it takes care of the cough. It does seem the cough is gone, but it's harder to breathe at 4. I'm going to gi...

Update on first night
Well, I just had my first night with a basic CPAP and Breeze head gear with nasal pillows. I used the ramp feature, which was OK, but I failed to test everything at full strength first (10 cm). The max pressure had me make adjustments after I was already dozing off. The greatest annoyance was noise....
