Re: Rotator cuff torn ligaments repair, feedback please

I have had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders. I had my right done in November and in March I fell and hurt my left arm so had that in May. With the right I tried PT off and on for about a yr and then I had MRI and it was a complete tear w/ bone spur and inflammation. My surgeon said that a comp...

I wondered if SA was something that would exclude you from war. I'm too old to be drafted and I have other conditions that would keep me out anyway but just curious. I also have wondered what would happen in prison with a CPAP. I don't lead a life that's likely to make me end up in jail - actually I...

Wistful - thanks for telling me that you cousin recommends Prozac for people going off Effexor. I'm sorry you had such a hard time. I really do trust my doctor. It always seems like she has carefully evaluated the situation before she prescribes something. And I'm a complicated case!

I saw my internist today and she suggested Prozac. I have read that Prozac is a good one to switch to because Effexor has a short life and Prozac is one of the ones that stays in your system for awhile. It also is a SSRI. She also gave me some lower dosage Effexor if I need it but she thought since ...

Thanks for the feedback. I see my doctor today so I'll mention the Wellbutrin. I have researched going off Effexor and I know it could be challenging and that you need to wean yourself slowly. I'm assuming that's why my doctor wanted me to come into the office rather than just calling in a new RX. T...

Anti-depressants and Increased Apnea

Has anyone else started antidepressants and noticed an increase in AHI? Background: 6/2004 - DX with sleep apnea at age 46 after snoring loudly since my 20's and being extremely sleepy for about 2 years before that. Start CPAP therapy without much success due to congestion caused by allergies. 11/20...

Every insurance is different. I had my CPAP about a month and went for a follow-up visit. I told my doctor that I felt that I needed an APAP because I have a lot of conditions and I'm on a lot of medication so feel it's unlikely that I would need the same pressure every night. I don't know if he wro...

[quote="gulfpearl"]No I donot think anybody with OSA should have to report their condition to the government. Diabetics or heart patients don't have to report, either one could cause an auto accident after suffering a heart attack or passing out because of poor blood sugar control.

Dust and dust mite allergies with CPAP

After a couple of decades of nasal congestion I was dx'd with allergies to house dust, dust mites, mold and horses. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to different types of pollen as well but my doctor didn't test me for that because he said there is no way to avoid it and the only treatment other than wh...

I had a Colonoscopy about 2 weeks ago. I have a sheet with all my conditions and medications but I actually wasn't thinking about the sleep apnea. I guess I was concentrating too much on my blood sugar and insulin pump as well as making sure they didn't give me any gluten (I have type 1 diabetes and...

This is good timing since I just got a copy of my blood work and my CO2 was 32 (Lab reference range 22 - 31 MMOL/L) and I was wondering about it. I am on steroids (Prednisone) for rheumatoid arthritis along with other medications for the RA, diabetes, hypothroid and allergies. I get blood drawn ever...

DSM - my Dad started working at IBM the year I was born - 1957. He worked more with selling (procurement) than the computers themself but I thought it was ironic that I also ended up with a technology job. He worked there for 37 years and then took the early retirement. They did pay the medical expe...

I have had Type 1 diabetes for 32 years - my body does not produce insulin because my immune system thought my pancreas for an invader)! In fact I now have 4 autoimmune diseases because apparently my immune system does not know the difference between me and the enemy! I have felt over the last coupl...

I use two nasal sprays - Astelin and Nasonex. I think I may have tried Flonase in the past but it would have been a long time ago. I take 2 allergy meds (Singulair and Zyrtec). I have taken Allegra in the past and it was about the same as Zyrtec. The Astelin helps some but not enough that I don't fe...

I'm a data analsyt at a bank. For the last 2 years it has been extremely difficult to do my job.
