Re: Just realized I'm a mouth breather

Thank you. I'll try some hypoallergenic tape on my lips first and go from there.

Just realized I'm a mouth breather

Turns out I'm a mouth breather, but only on exhale. When I use a nasal mask and a chin strap, I exhale through my teeth and lips no matter how tight I make the strap. When I use a full face mask, same thing, air escapes on exhale breaking the mask seal on my face, which of course wakes me up. Is the...

I was using the ResMed Swift II without having any major problems and then I decided to try out the new Swift LT. New and improved must be better right? Wrong! After only two nights of use, caused SEVERE irritation of skin to both nares and a large pimple at the underside tip of the nose. No questio...

I would highly recommend the newest FF mask...the Hans Rudolph 7600 V2. It's the only FF I've found that actually forms a good enough seal to withstand pressures 15cm and greater. This apparently is due to the double seal ribbed design. It requires severe tightening of the headstrap at those pressur...

The M series Auto with A-flex has that feature, it's called "auto-ramp". So if you really want it, I guess you'll have to trade up.

I for one am tired of the ambiguity relative to Respironics Software. Someone in charge of this board (hello moderators?) should take responsiblity and put up a sticky with FAQ's with accurate answers. Some of the FAQ's might be: 1.) When did Respironics decide to restrict sale of the software to pa...

ComfortLite 2 nasal pillows restrictive air flow

I have found that when using the nasal pillows with the Respironics ComfortLite 2, the air flow is extremely restrictive (I have tried both medium and large). Compared to the nasal direct seals, which do not have this problem at all, i.e. no detectable resistance (size 4). Has anyone else noticed th...

FYI distilled water 99 cents/gal here in NY area. I have found that even if one drop of water reaches my nasal cushion that it will immediately break the seal, cause a tiny air leak, and lubricate the cushion just enough to cause it to eventually pop out of place on high pressure (I'm a 15cm'er). Ha...

I've been using a TeleFlex Hybrid for about a week. My first impression was that it was like breathing through two straws (I've never used nasal pillows before), so that was a shock and takes some getting used to (if you can). Second, it does start leaking (from sides near mouth) late into the night...

I found another one called Sleep 2008. This looks like a BIG show held every June. The next one will be in Baltimore June 7 - 12, '08. Check out the exhibitor list from the 2007 show...quite impressive.

If they had one, most of us wouldn't be allowed in, because we are patients, and we are NOT allowed to know the secret handshake. Jim I've never found a large "trade only" show that could keep me out yet. They couldn't possibly police that. That would take an enormous amount of resources and staff....

Ebay is your best bet, but that machine was just released so it might be a while before one shows up. Usually the seller is offering only a .pdf scanned copy of the book, but who cares...if you want it bound, take it down to the local FedEx Kinko's. Also, send an email to some of the sellers of the ...
