Re: Upcoming surgery
Having the Septoplasty and Turb Resection on 11/21. Figure doing it before Thanksgiving will give me a bit more time to recover. Interesting to read the posts. ENT had the scope up my nose looking around before I knew what was happening. Thanks for all who share their experience. I will return the f...

Re: Taking off mask at night?
Hi Norah - Wow. a real newby! I'm honored that your first post was in reply to my problem. For me, part of it was just focusing on the importance of CPAP and discipline to remember put it back on when I get up and come back to bed. Welcome to the board, the support of this group has been a real enco...

Re: Carry on luggage - CPAP as third bag?
Hi Iris, You can see my earlier posts on the same topic concerning USAirways. There is a copy of the email I sent them and their promt response. One suggestion they made was to proactively alert the gate agent that you are flying with a medical device. I've done that a couple times and it hasn't bee...

Re: Taking off mask at night?
Am also going to try switching to the Swift LT, in hopes that comfort and better suited-ness to a side sleeper will help. Only other mask I've tried is the Opus 360 and am not a fan.

Re: Taking off mask at night?
Gerald, the reason I believe I turn off the machine is to stop the noise of the air and of the "hey your mask is off" alarm. Putting it on sooner (rather than waiting until the Lunesta is kicking in) sounds like a good plan to try. Thanks for your thoughtful responses.

Re: Taking off mask at night?
Yes, the 'guest' is perceptive. I take Lunesta and the grogginess keeps me from remembering that it needs to go back on!

Taking off mask at night?
Hi,
I have been using my CPAP for about a year but my compliance is down - I wake up enough to remove the mask and turn of the machine but not enough to remember it when I wake maskless. Any tips or ideas that have worked for you to wear it all night?
Thanks!

Not looking for drama...
When first approached I wasn't sure if I actually had the prescription in my bag. Secondly, I suspected she was more concerned that it was truly a medical device (guess not). Thirdly, I wasn't sure that precription would be enough to ensure medical necessity. One of my points in posting this (other ...

Bad experience flying
Yesterday, as my flight home began boarding, the gate agent took my ticket and, as I started down the jetway, he stopped my and said that I had to check a bag since I had three carryons. One my carry ons is a CPAP, and I informed the agent that one of my carryons was a medical device. He then insist...
