Curiosity Thread starting again Where do you live?

Born in Marmet WV just outside of Charleston. Dad was in military so we moved all around, moved to Tampa FL when he retired, I was 13. Lived in FL ever since. It's not my favorite place, especially summers, but this is where my family is and I won't give them up. Live in DeLand, between Daytona Beac...

C-pap Masks

I just received my new Fisher Paykel Infinity on Thursday - It's a go!!! So light I forget it's there, and the headgear is so small and non-intrusive. All 4 sizes of nasal pillows come with it, as well as an extra headgear. I slept all night without waking up last night - That's a first!!!!! I feel ...

I do the insurance verifications for a DME company, and I agree wholeheartedly with loonlvr.

OK, now it's time for me to ask the questions...

According to Medicare's own guidelines, If a person's AHI is between 5 and 15, the will qualify if they also are symptomatic ie. snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness, difficulty staying focused, etc.) It the AHI is over 15 they do not need to be symptomatic (although most usually are, isn't that wh...

Comfort Curve

I started out with the Comfort Curve and it was great for about 10 days, then I started getting massive leaks. However, I had one of the first ones, and the headgear has been redesigned. They did send me a new headgear and it seems to be doing fine again.

OK Its Time to Vent....

I feel your frustration! Are you renting your CPAP? In a couple of months Fisher Paykel will have a new one on the shelves; The humidity level constantly changes as the temp and humidity in the room changes. They're taking orders for it now but will not be ready to ship out for a couple of months. A...

What is the best mask?

That's a 64 million dollar question! It's a very individual thing. What one person loves might be disastrous for the next guy. I've been on my CPAP 3 weeks and am awaiting the arrival of my 4th mask. I have really severe claustrophobia and therefore cannot tolerate much of anything on my face or hea...

Oxygen sat levels

Not only that, but patients who are on O2 at levels under 5 lpm cannot use a mask because of the CO2 reabsorption. They'll end up in the hospital with CO2 toxicity or, like you said, they could die.

Cant find a mask, please help!

Welcome chrisp! I'm new to this too and also having difficulty finding a new mask. Since I work for a DME company, this morning I called Fisher Paykel and they are coming to the office tomorrow morning with all their equipment and supplies to give an inservice. I've seen several posts from people wh...

The mask dilemma!

No, just the 3 I've mentioned. The Respironics Rep is sending me one of the new headgears for the comfort curve to see if it helps. Supposedly it was redesigned due to the massive leaks being reported. I'll let ya'll know if that works. The company I work for only lets us order from Respironics unle...
