Re: Has anybody ordered replacement filters on eBay?
Why don't you ask this over on ebay's cpap "support group" for any assistance you might need with those ebay cpap purchases? Oh you mean there isn't one of those? so you come here to ask about ebay purchases? I suppose next week you will be back posting again what a raw deal you got on ebay and we ...

Has anybody ordered replacement filters on eBay?
Hey everybody, I'm out of filters for my Respironics M series Plus cpap machine. I found a seller on eBay, Tina's Homecare, that offers replacement filters significantly cheaper than cpap.com. This is what I'm looking at: eBay replacement filter auction In the text, I noticed the words "comparable t...

I wish you the best. I just had an operation on my elbow and that has been a major pain in the @ss (not literally), so I can't imagine what you are going through. I don't know if you have come across this site... it's a guy's 10 week journal about the same surgery (I think). His seems to be successf...

[quote="snoregirl"]Yes, my husband, soon to be ex, was as intolerant as you. He couldn't sleep with my snoring. He couldn't sleep with the windows open because the birds bothered him, he couldn't sleep with the shades up since the light bothered him at dawn..... Now, you say that poking your wife do...

Anybody else completely intolerant of other people snoring?
So, I'm here on the computer and behind me, my wife is fast asleep. She rolled onto her back and started to snore...not loudly or anything, but a steady snore nonetheless. I could only stand it for about 30 seconds, then I had to poke at her until she turned onto her side and stopped (don't think ba...

Honestly, if your psychiatrist isn't open to stopping all mood altering drugs while you are starting cpap therapy, ask to see another one. Psychiatrists have gone through medical school, so they know there is more going on in the brain than can be fixed with chemical tweaks. From my own history...I ...

I was given the Comfortlite 2 by the insurance company. No other options were offered, so I was a bit worried. Luckily, it does work well for my face. The Good: 3 different types of nose pieces, easy on/off headgear, great for side sleeping...I can really bury my face into the pillow and it will hol...

To keep the cats away from the machine...put the machine in a cat carrier. Ah...the differences between cats and dogs. My dogs have been completely uninterested in every aspect of my cpap and pur-sleep (well, one dog gave the creme bottle a lick and recoiled immediately). But, if I put the machine ...

Re: I had the surgery !!!
He also suggested some foam nasal plugs to reduce the airflow. How awful...isn't the purpose of the surgery to increase airflow? Thank you for posting your experience though. Luckily, I have been able to use my cpap every night, all night since the very first day, but I have still wondered about th...

What department does your sleep doctor work with?
I'm currently reading "Restless Nights" by Peretz Lavie, a historical overview of sleep apnea research. I was surprised to see how many different types of doctors became sleep specialists. So, now I'm curious...which medical department does your sleep doctor work under? (Mine is a neurologist.)

Wow...I've never gotten so many responses so quickly on a message board before...thank you very much folks! In the end, it looks like there is no simple answer to this question, probably because the field is so new. Sleep doctors don't come from any specific specialty, so it would follow that their ...

How does one become a Polysomnograph Tech?
Does anybody here know how one becomes a polysomnograph tech? (Are there any techs on these boards?) A while back, there was a chihuahua related incident which resulted in two broken arms, one of which healed wrong and needed major surgery. As a consequence, I have not been able to work since the be...

I have a long, narrow, aquiline nose so the prongs seem to work best for me too. The mask I have (I'm still on my first) is the Comfortlite2: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Comfort-Lite-2-Nasal-Interface-CPAP-Mask.html It's good because it offers all three types of nose pieces...pillows, cushion, ...
