If you have disassembled the mask for cleaning make sure all 3 of the green clips are completely locked in their respective places - sometimes the bottom clip is not locked in place and the mask will squeal in a certain position it took me a while once to figure that out and actually replaced a mask...

Instead of vinegar which will make your humidifier smell like a pickle factory
Use Citric acid , commonly sold as "sour salt"
cleans just as good if not better with no smell whatsover!
