Thanks, Nodzy, for the suggestion about holding the pad up to the bottle. Good idea. I'll try it tonight. Last night, I combined Deep and Comfort. Very nice scents. I did wake during the night, but only once. And I still felt relaxed. I'm usually curious to see the pressure I'm at when I wake during...

While I wish I could say that use of pur-sleep has helped me sleep through the night - oh you lucky folks for whom this is true - I do find it pleasant enough that I ordered 4 additional scents. I just received my order for creme, comfort, deep, and fresh. I'm looking forward to experimenting. The o...

I'm also having a positive experience with the comfortlite. 've been using the simple cushion for about 4 months. I had used the Swift, but I'm a side sleeper and need to change positions occasionally during the night. The swift seemed to leak a lot and it was bothering my teeth because it seemed I ...

tearing eyes
Papoose, I don't know about the twitching, though now that you mention it, I recall times when I've been very tired when I've felt a kind of pulsing under my eye. Not sure that this is the same thing though. Re the dry eye, though you note you'd been diagnosed with it previously, it's possible that ...

remstar aflex - please help me change the pressure settings
HI all, I hesitate to ask this because I imagine it's been asked before. But I couldn't find through a search how to change the settings on the remstar aflex. I've been using a Resmed Auto on a trial for a couple of months. My doc had ordered it set for 5 to 20, though I was titrated at 8. I was wak...

I use a comfort lite 2 nasal cushion. It does fit over the nose but it's not as large as the nasal mask I used in my sleep study. The hose rotates so I can sleep on either side. It's ight too. I wish the exhaust was more diffused though, and it seems to dry my eyes a bit. It is interesting how many ...

I didn't anticipate that my question would generate so much discussion and provide so much information. I realize that there are still some differences of opinion, but thank you all for replying. My DME left a message asking what I'd learned from the forum. It's amazing to me that these professional...

algorithms and switch resmed to remstar - how'd you know?
GoofyUT, I wonder what helped determine that your airflow fit the remstar better than resmed? Who was able to differentiate between the algorithms?
And, also, is that a German Shorthaired Pointer in your photo? It's a beautiful dog.
Thanks again,
Barbara

re: resmed runaway - thank you
Thank you all for sharing your insights and suggestions about the runaway pressure problem. I find it so interesting that the collective wisdom here far exceeds that of my DME RT and the resmed nurse/rep. I hadn't thought before about the greater variation in wakeful breathing compared with the auto...

Thanks, Ozij. Your theory about the algorithm is the first one that makes sense. I tend to breathe in a relaxed way, with long inhales and exhales. I had wondered if it might be reading a pause between inhale and exhale as an apnea, so I tried to speed up the breathing a bit. Didn't seem to affect t...

Runaway pressure increase with resmed auto S8
Sorry that this is long. But it's kind of a complicated situation that my DME and the REsmed rep haven't provided a solution for that seems logical to me. I've been using a resmed S8 auto vantage on a trial for about a month. I used a Respironics cpap with c-flex for about a year and was still wakin...
