Re: Sleepiness and Reading a Computer Screen
I have the same problem. At times I feel as if I just can't keep my eyes open any longer. It really only happens at work or home in front of the computer. I talked to my eye doctor about it and she did a test that showed that my eyes are very dry. She suggested using eye drops (Systane Ultra or some...

Thanks everyone. I do have my machine lower than my bed (in an open drawer in my bedside table). After reading your posts I am thinking that sometimes the hose may be hanging out of the drawer lower than the machine and that is when I have this problem ( I actually thought it sounded a bit like 'wat...

Drummer in my hose?
I'm have occasional problems with a noise that seems to come from my hose. Sometimes late at night when I inhale I hear a sound that is hard to discribe...something between a drum beat and a guitar string being pulled very hard. (thlunk) Needless to say this is annoying and wakes me up. I usually ca...

I am wondering the same thing. I switched from a CPAP at 7 to an auto set to 5 and 15 on Friday. Since then my nose/sinus have been stuffed and it is hard to breath through my nose (I actually can breath easier with the mask on then without it at this point). I don't have software yet but the 7 day ...

I too was given a basic machine with no data capability beyond compliance. I am currently trying to get an upgrade and feel like I'm stuck in a washing machine on spin cycle. The secretary at the sleep doctor is very understanding and supportive, the representative at the insurance is very helpful a...

Shades of childhood
I was my comfortgel mask every day with ivory liquid and don't have problems with the mask smell. The first couple of times I washed it I couldn't figure out how to get it to dry until I found out how to take it apart and let the pieces dry separately. As long as I wash it every day I don't have an ...

I have carpal tunnel syndrome and find that when I sleep well and don't move around at night I wake up with the hands/arms numb or tingling. I've been told that this is because when I don't move I put pressure on my arms/hands that aggravates my CTS. For me it's the same and your leg falling asleep ...

New Too
I'm new to this too and even though I pride myself on being an informed person I had to admit that I knew somewhere between little and nothing about OSA treatment. The number of posts can be overwhelming on a daily basis. There are so many people on this board who have knowledge to share that it som...

My Abby has it too
My Abby has a 22 inch neck, snores like a buzz saw, twitches when she sleeps and drools.... I was wondering about OSA but the thought of a Newfoundland puppy with a mask/hose on was more than I could take. She's still trying to figure out why I keep laughing when I look at her.

Wow, thanks for all the advice. I'm so glad I found this board. I feel much less alone in this. And it is a relief to be able to ask knowledgable people for their take on things rather than having to 'reinvent the wheel' on my own. Time to start the research and rehearse how I am going to present my...

Thanks for the reply. Am I correct that the best path to follow is to research machines and have one in mind and call the sleep doctor and ask her to prescribe what I want? I assume the DME won't do anything for me without something from the doctor? Sure is a lot to learn about OSA and dealing with ...
