Help please - Time to upgrade my BiPAP Auto

it’s time to upgrade my Respironics System One BiPAP Auto with either ResMed AirCurve or Respironics DreamStation. My procrastination brings me to December and the last few days of getting any possible help from insurance since my ginormous deductible has been met. Now I’m rushing to compare the bes...

Re: Tape Users: Drooling tape off?

When I used 1" tape, the occasional drool popped it open. I now use 2" wide Nexcare Gentle Paper tape. It's a little too wide, so I do cut about a 1/4" strip off -- this makes it wide enough to contain any drool, yet not cover too much skin around my mouth. I also fold one end onto itself for an eas...

Re: M Series Auto Bipap setting help, please

Oh, RG, you are truly a blessing to this site -- thank you! I'm going to use those settings tonight and keep my fingers crossed and nostrils open and hope to find a setting that will give me the therapy I seem to be lacking. Almost 3 years on C/Bipap and still not quite there. I've GOT to get this r...

M Series Auto Bipap setting help, please

Hi everyone, I wonder if someone can help suggest some setting changes to my Respironics M Series Auto Bipap w/Biflex. I've been using the Bipap for a year now, since my last sleep study. Settings are currently 11/14 with Biflex at 2. I'd like to try an auto setting for a week or so to see if I'm ev...

Birdshell...... I can understand your “concern”….and I realize that you really aren’t being “critical”….and that “in a sense” you’re just playing “Devil’s Advocate”. Hopefully, this message will put aside your fears for my safety. Although the string I’ve been using has been certified as being “all...

hades, I too love the light, nonrestrictive feel of the Swift II -- the leaking I get is either from the left pillow or my mouth. I did tape again last night and though I don't recall any balloon cheeks, I woke up a number of times from the pressure and a sore dry throat, mouth. I have my humidfier ...

BiPap pressures of 11/15 - Can Swift II work with this?

How many BiPap users have experience with the Swift II at 15 IPAP? Are nasal pillows not recommended at this pressure? I've been using these nasal pillows with my Mseries auto w/aflex set to 9-13 without any major leakage. 90% of the time I'm at 10-10.5. After a 6 month follow-up with my sleep doc, ...

I'm amazed at how easy-going everyone is about their cpap equipment in hotels! I must be super paranoid. While I don't necessarily worry about my cpap & accessories being stolen, I do think of it getting knocked off the table by accident. My main concern, however, is the sanitation of my stuff. I mu...

Excellent link, James -- thanks for providing it!
On some poorly designed products they are far brighter than they need to be, and they stay on all the time.
Maybe the Respironics designers thought "looking cool" trumped "purpose."

Granted ribbons have been overdone, but your elegant arrangement made me laugh out loud.
Ditto. I needed a good laugh.
Then I had a vision of the miniturized version. Only another hosehead would have a clue what it is.
I can definitely see myself wearing the miniature vision - what a hoot.

What a timely question! Just returned from China via United Airlines. Since I was in lowly coach I could not use my CPAP (no outlet, no battery), so it was a bit painful trying not to doze and destroy everyone else's peace with my terrible snoring. http://planetsmilies.net/tired-sleeping-smiley-1740...

Try it Risk Free!
How is it "Risk Free" if it costs a $45 handling fee in addition to shipping costs both ways?!?! Sounds like a risk to my wallet for sure.

sleepyhead, I assume you've already compared the two online. They are similar, but I can give you my very subjective opinion. When I was at my DME I did spend quite a bit of time trying on a number of masks, with pressure set at 10 and lying down in order to get the most realistic idea of what they'...
