RemStar MSeries A-flex humidifier leak
I just found my CPAP sitting in a pool of water, which I attribute to the slightest misalignment of the gray seal in one area. There seems to be no more water coming out of the machine, and it appears to be operating normally. I do have a replacement humidifier tank on hand that I will begin using "...

Re: sleep apnea and Acid Reflux
Hi Amann, How long have you been taking the Aciphex? I started out using Prevacid, which worked good for me. My insurance wouldn't pay for it, so I switched to Aciphex. Within about 3 days on the Aciphex, my symptoms in my throat came back. (I had an uncomfortable feeling in my throat on breathing i...

dllfo, My hat's off to you, coming off all those pain meds. Wishing you better days to come. I'm with you, on the chocolate thing. I was able to just quit my Oxycodone, and not look back. I actually have withdrawals coming off carbs and chocolate, but not opiates. I think I had the same disc herniat...

Thanks for mentioning that Carol, about asking for some starter samples. My ENT was out, and told me to ask my M.D. for some, but I forgot about that. He was quite irritated too, that the Ins. co.'s won't pay for the better drugs, but yet they don't mind paying for the patient to run around for year...

Just an update on this, in case anyone else experiences this. My M.D. sent me to my ENT, who diagnosed me with Laryngesophagial Reflux. I'm probably not spelling that right. I've had GERD (reflux) in the past, but apparently when the reflux acid reaches your voice box, it can start bronchitis and as...

Congratulations, frapilu!!! I am SO happy for you! It's like being a kid at Christmas, isn't it? I have that same machine (for a year now) and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I do find the A-Flex much more comfortable. I recently used my travel C-Flex one, and realized how much more I love my A-flex. However, ...

SleepNet IQ Nasal Mask
Does anybody LOVE this mask? (The one in the latest product challenge). It looks very appealing to me. I would love to trial one, but don't qualify for the comparison, as I currently use the Comfortlite cushion, which is O.K. I know it's a very individual thing, but like to hear pros and cons from o...

Hi Teri, Just wanted to chime in, with what Den said about getting ENOUGH sleep for you! I also have migraines, but have been greatly reduced with CPAP. Whenever I slip up, and don't get at least a full 8 hours, that is a sure trigger for a migraine for me. It seems like 2 or 3 nights of getting lik...

Thanks Sleepydoll and Ozij, for the replies. I did make an appt. for tomorrow morning. I do clean my mask and humidifier regularly, but have been a little lax on cleaning my Aussie heated hose, just because of the hassle. It never "seems" wet inside. I let it blow out daily. But I don't like thinkin...

Hi Gailandartie, I had a similar experience, although I use a different machine. I changed my EPR down to 1, (on the advice of others on here) and that seemed to help me all around. I think it's possible that the high end of the exhalation relief may give a little too much relief for proper therapy ...

Airway hurts
Hi Everybody, I've been on CPAP a little over a year now and adapted pretty well. For the last week, I've been experiencing my upper airway feeling very uncomfortable, day and night. It started out feeling like I had small feathers floating in my airway, as best as I can describe it. I have had asth...

For me personally, I know I couldn't tolerate a smoker's mask. If you used it only one time, I probably couldn't stand to be near the mask, let alone use it. Sorry. I am just very sensitive to smells. It seems like cigarette smell is just really hard to get out of CPAP equipment. I can't speak for o...
