I was diagnosed during June of this year. I'm 33 years old. I'm no spring chicken but I'm not "over the hill" yet either. The first hint that something eas amiss was my family hearing me make all kinds of strange noises in my sleep when I used to be as quiet as a mouse. I also was dealing with a goo...

Right! And it's not good for all that air to be leaking into his eyes either. That can cause damage in the long run. He definitely needs to mention that to his doctor. Sounds like he needs his mask fitted or to try a different one altogether. The mask is the hardest piece of this "puzzle" to get tog...

This is my first winter on xpsp too, but where I'm at the temps aren't quite that severe. I stopped refridgerating the distilled water for the humidifier a few weeks ago. That became a habbit over the humid summer months. I also increased the heated humidifier setting a bit. A night or so ago we lef...

I recently had to deal with the same issue. A good friend of mine asked me to come and do a traveling gig for a week with her steel drum band. It was very likely we'd be rooming together to save on expenses. Before we came to an agreement, I told her about my xpap and the need to keep my injection m...

Trying to think of something significant to say, but everyone else has pretty much said it all. I will reiterate that going without cpap for even one night... even a few hours... can be a genuinely scary experience. I had oly been on cpap a couple of weeks when I had to go without it one night and I...

I haven't thought about there being a coorelation with that. Since I've dealt with multiple eye conditions at birth, and am already at a little risk for retinal detachments, etc. I have good thorough eye exams. I haven't had one since starting xpap either. I've known I've needed to, but hust have no...

I've uaed mine every night since I got it. Most of the time I also average between 8 and 9 hours a night. I had only one night cut short by a cold. I never had issues with taking it off. My bedtime routine usualy has me brush my teeth, take my meds, fill up the humidifier tank, do a bit of reading, ...

A humidifier should be just the thing. ResMed makes heated (moistens air by warming it) or passover (water is moistened as it "passes over" cold air) humidifiers. Even with the heated humidifiers, the air does not get hot or really very warm for that matter, but it does add a bit of moisture. Passov...

Mine did that too a while back. I started putting a very SMALL amount of Vaseline on the circular part where the eblow connects to the mask frame just after I put it back together after each weekly cleaning. That took care of it with just a very miniscule amount of the stuff. Then I read that inhali...
