DC-10
In order to use 12 volt batteries, you have to purchase the Resmed DC-10 12 volt plug. For some reason, Resmed has reversed the polarity on the wires (center connection is negative). I have one and it works great on car batteries or battery packs. Figure on about 1 amp per hour and NEVER drain your ...

Sorry you are having a rough time.
I don't know much about Medicaid but I am sure someone will jump in soon. As far as making it until your equipment arrives, you might want to sleep in a recliner. If your throat is closing off when you deep sleep, the recliner may help keep you at an angle that won't completly close it off. Also, tr...

You can do it.
Becky,
Keep trying. It will get better, you just need time to adjust to this new way of sleeping. Once you get past the rough spots, you will know it was worth it.
I have be on the HOSE for almost a year now. Keep reading here. We all have been where you are now. Just keep trying!

Stuffy Nose starting CPAP
You probably need a full face mask for times like this when your nose is too stuffed up to use the nasal mask. You might try cpapauction.com to purchase one or talk to your dme about your problems.

Melatonin
pjwalman, As I understand it, (I am NOT a Dr.) Melatonin is naturally produced by your body in darkness to start sleep. As we get older, our bodies produce less and less plus with the contribution of electricity, our homes are not as dark as they once were before bedtime. Yes, I take one an hour bef...

Melatonin
I use it every night and have experienced no problems with it. It was recommended by my Dr.
Glad it worked for you.

It will go away.
The smell should go away on it own. Think about it, you have the smell because of the odor of the hotel being pulled through your CPAP. Try Johnny's recommendation of Pur-Sleep to make you not notice it until it clears up -or- just wait until it goes away.

Could be mouth leaking.
When you go into deep sleep, your mouth may drop open and let the air pressure flow out your mouth. Search mouth taping on this site and see if that doesn't solve your problem. i hope you get it resolved.

I agree....
Den, I agree with what you say. Another reason our healthcare system is going through the roof is illegal immagrants (and others) utilizing healthcare services and not paying the bill. How much longer is the US healthcare system going to survive with about half the 'customers' expecting free service...

A little off topic....but
I am generally happy with my DME here in Houston. They have done some things that just makes me scratch my head and say huh? For example, when it is time for my Insurance to pay for another mask, I get a phone call from a friendly person that asks about my equipment, tolerance, any problems, etc. th...

Software and Reader for Resmed S8 Vantage
Hi All, I have been lurking and gaining great info here for some time. Thanks for sharing. I have been on APAP for about 9 months now and my AHI is around 3 or less every day as read from the LCD. I was thinking of purchasing a card reader and was wondering if someone here could PM me about getting ...

Thanks for the quick response Rested Gal and DreamStalker! Soooo, I guess that you are saying that if my AHI was 4 and my Ai was 1 and HI was 3 that those are the ones that the Vantage COULD NOT stop? Dream, I think I will not re-adjust the Vantage as long as my numbers look so good. One more thing,...

Some questions about ResMed S8-Vantage summary data (LCD)
I all, I have been Lurking and learning since I was told I was going for my sleep study. I have learned a lot from you all (I'm from Texas) but I have a few questions. My sleep study said that I had a AHI of 30.5 and was issued the Vantage with a pressure of 5-13. I have upped the 5 to 6 and the 13 ...
