FINE tuning the tension on a Swift for MINIMAL pressure is CRITICAL. Aha! THAT's what I was doing wrong. I was used to my FlexiFit and the ComfortCurve and thought I had to make it tight to get a good seal. I loosened it up until it is just maintaining its position and what do you know? No leaks an...

Ask your DME if they have an extra mask of some other type they could loan you to alternate with, until your nares get accustomed to the Swift's pillows, so that you can continue cpap treatment. I didn't get the Swift from my DME, I bought it myself from cpap.com. I have another mask I bought mysel...

Is the Swift supposed to hurt my nares?
My new Swift arrived yesterday and I wore it for the first time last night. Am I doing something wrong, or is it supposed to hurt my nares? I have a (fairly) small nose (especially for a guy) with nice round, equal size nares. When I woke up this morning they hurt , and they are still hurting some n...

Would you DME allow you to try a Swift? My DME carries nothing but basic, one piece masks like the Profile Lite Gel Mask , and they do not tell you about its boil and fit capability. I found that mask painful to wear because of the pressure it put on the area just below my nose and above my lip. I ...

If you do try the SNAPP, please let me know how it works for you and how it compares to the Swift.gracie97 wrote:I started with the Breeze, fought with it for a month, and then gave up and started using a Swift two nights ago. Planning to try to Snapp next, despite the negative comments.

I'm using Snapp because the only way I'll know which mask I like the best is by trying as many as I can. I think that one night with a mask is not enough of a trial so, I try to give the different masks that I try several nights. Overall, the Snapp is OK -I could use it long term but don't find it ...

Doesn't seem like the SNAPP is very popular
Okay. Even the person who posted that he likes the SNAPP likes the Breeze better. That does not give me much confidence in the SNAPP. After my ComfortCurve experience , I am going to place a greater weight on the opinions of other posters. The two masks that you guys have been mentioning most are th...

Time to try a new mask again. Should it be the SNAPP?
I fell for it and bought the ComfortCurve. I can almost get it working right, but it has defeated me. Maybe my nose is too small for it -- I am using the small cushion and it is all I can do to keep the tip of my nose out if it. It leaks too easily: any movement of my nose or cheek, or lying on my s...

Which machine to buy?
My current CPAP machine is a RemStar Lite. It is okay, but it does not give me any information about effectiveness of therapy, leaks, etc. It is very good for me for the Sabbath and Jewish holidays as its simplicity means that I can leave it on for days at a time and that its operation is not affect...

Once again, how do they manufacture those sterile stainless steel needles and formed plastic syringes to exact specifications, hermetically sealed and sterile for 15 cent each? Yet, can't make a mask for less than $50 and usually over $100? The reason they can sell those syringes for 15 cents each ...

Look at the ResMed Swift or the AEIOMed aura or the Puritan Bennett Breeze before you consider the ComfortCurve. I looked at these masks. I do not like the look of the Swift because I like to have the tubing go over my head and I like to be able to sleep on both sides. The other two are interesting...

How do you try a new mask if they cannot be returned?
At my sleep test, I kept rejecting the maks with the blue gel because I found the pressure just below my nose agonizing. In keeping with my sleep clinic's and DME provider's apparent desire to use the cheapest products possible, the mask that they tried next, and that I eventually made them give me ...

Dissatisfied with my clinic and DME vendor in Brooklyn NY
I got my sleep test just over a month ago. While the clinic did a professional job of diagnosing and titrating me, they did not have a large selection of masks to try -- mostly very basic models. Also, my DME vendor is associated with the clinic -- they are not exactly the same company but I went to...
