Re: NEW PR System One REMstar 60
Besides the humidifier and heated hose, it would be useful to know if there are any other changes/improvements to the PR S1... changes to the algorithms, for example? Thanks in advance if anyone comes across any info in this regard...

Re: Have PRS1; should second machine be PRS1 or S9?
Hi Jason. I own both the PRS1 and the S9, my note is based on my experience with both. That, however, is my subjective experience--a lot of people have had great results with the S9. My point was simply that their algorithms are different enough that it might be problematic to be switching between t...

Re: Have PRS1; should second machine be PRS1 or S9?
While I'm all for experimentation, there's also a continuity factor to consider. The PRS1 and S9 have different algorithms, you may find that if the PRS1 works well for you, you may not do as well with the S9; this may be be simply due to acclimation to the PRS1. Also, if you have trouble sleeping i...

Re: Oximeter - How To?
This may be a dumb question, but what do you do with oximeter data? Specifically, what choices would you make regarding your CPAP/APAP treatment based on the results you get from your oximeter? I understand how the AHI and other data collected in an APAP can show the direct result of pressure settin...

Re: Questions Re Pulse Ox Monitors
Maybe my brain isn't working too well, but what i don't understand is how you can make use of oximeter data, even if the device is accurate. I understand how my Auto M/Encore data readouts can be used to help fine tune the APAP settings, but how do you relate Ox monitor data to anything that gives y...

Re: Travel woes w/hose suspension stand
On one travel occasion a TSA rep asked me to inspect the second item referenced in this thread. She knew what sleep apnea was and allowed me to keep it after I explained its use, but the point is there is no guarantee any particular product won't get questioned; the potential for confiscation is alw...

Re: Recall of Repironics DC Powered Humidifier
This makes no sense. A "recall" means a known manufacturing defect serious enough to warrant replacement. I have never heard of a "conditional" recall as in "wait until it fails before we'll lift a finger to help you." It puts all customers in a position of wondering when the shoe will drop and the ...

Thanks for the info so far. I'm still trying to get a handle on what I'm looking at... What makes a chart "good" vs. "bad" and what can I do about it? In my case, I'm using the Aura/Twilight/whatever which according to the pamphlet at my pressure range has an Flow Rate of 25-30 LPM. On some days Enc...

Interpreting Encore Mask Leak Data
Hi, Can someone please explain how to interpret Mask Leak data? I've found various aspects mentioned in individual comments, but the info is always fragmentary and never adds up to a complete picture that puts in context: What do the measurements represent? What defines a "large leak" from other lea...

This is a pretty low-tech solution, but it's inexpensive and it works. Go to RadioShack and buy one of their Wireless Remote Switch units (under $30 when I got mine, but that was several years ago). These are RF-controlled units that go between the power source and the devices you want to control. T...

Re: Encore Pro 1.8 for a Mac?
There is no Mac version per se, however, it runs fine on any Intel Mac with a Windows XP or Vista install under Bootcamp and/or Parallels/VMware.
