S10 automatic enable of heated humidifier
Is there a way to automatically enable the heated humidifier to come on when I start therapy and turn off when I turn off the machine in the morning? I realize this would not preheat the water.

Re: Resmed S9 Software - Where can I get it?
I also would like a copy of the S9 software. I see many requests for it but never received a PM. What do I do to obtain the software (Windows 7).
Thanks

ProVent disposable nose valves
I recently read about a new product called ProVent (made by Ventus) for sleep apnea and snoring treatment. This device consists of two identical adhesive disposable units - one for each nostril. This appears to be a selective valve - no resistance on inhalation and approximately (from their website)...

Reading the letter from Respironics regarding pricing suggests a very easy solution to the MAP. CPAP.com and others in the interest of providing a reliable machine might "test" each unit for perhaps one hour or so and then list it as a "used" device. This allows posting a selling price on the web si...

Installling Encore Pro 1.5
Since there appears to be a lot more difficulty with installing Encore Pro 1.5 and most CPAP / APAP users do not require it may I offer the following: Might Derek continue to offer support for the older version of Encore Pro along with his corresponding version of MyEncore. If I understand correctly...

Encore/SmartCard Date & Time
The Remstar XPAPs have a Lithium battery on the circuit board - same as your PC to retain time and your pressure/ramp/Flex settings when the machine is unplugged. Eventually this battery is drained down to a point where the stored data and time is lost. Respironics makes a cable that looks like a me...

A Swift question
The rear headstrap on my Swift mask moves upward through the night.
I then wake up listening to the loud woosh of air from the gap between the nasal pillows and my nares. Any suggestions or Lab Rat fixes that might hold the rear headband in place?

A Question re Remstar Heated Humidifier
The Remstar xPAP which sits on the Heated humidifier base communicates the desired heat setting via an infrared link (like your TV remote). There is a small sensor in the corner of the humidfier and a matching IR source in the base of the Remstar. Because of this the humidifier will not turn on in a...

I certainly don't think the Reader is worth $150 - but Respironics and CPAP.com apparently do. As mentioned in my original post this is priced high to limit replication of their software. I was told by tech support at Respironics that the reader contained custom firmware - I really can't verify this...

The Smart Card reader is almost as expensive as the complete Encore Pro package for a very good reason (at least to Respironics). Software may be easily (but not legally) duplicated; the Reader is built specifically for Respironics (same idea that cell phone providers do to keep you from switching c...

Encore Pro Installation Problems
When I tried to install Encore Pro (1.4i Rev4) the process hung with the message "Searching for Encore Pro database". I then tried to remove what I had done via Control Panel Add/Remove programs and found only 0.16MB worth of the program had been installed. I clicked on Add/Remove Encore Pro 1.4i an...

CPAP/APAP pressures converted to PSI
As a recent (one month) APAP user I was curious what the actual PSI (pounds per square inch) pressures were. Using a units conversion handbook I obtained the following results: 1 cm of water = 0.01425 PSI. 4 cm H20 = 0.057 PSI; 8 cm H2O = 0.114 PSI; 12 cm H2O = 0.171 PSI; 16 cm H2O = 0.228 PSI and f...
