Re: Broken S9 APAP! Now what?
Just a little thing for people to remember. If you drop your CPAP machine on the floor, be sure to pick it up with the blower end up so that water will drain back towards the humidifier. And so that you don't slosh any water into the blower unit if it hasn't already gotten there. Picture it in your...

Re: Broken S9 APAP! Now what?
All hoses have the same diameter ends on them .... some heated hoses have to be turned end for end to connect them to the cpap machine. I'll look for it tomorrow and see. In the morning I'll check in with my ENT and Apria, and then, if needed, I'll get in touch with a certain forum member who messa...

Re: Broken S9 APAP! Now what?
Mask and hose should fit just about any machine...................If your insurance paid for your machine recently it is unlikely that it would pay for another because of your carelessness.....But try. Not recently. I've had it for at least 4 years. The hose absolutely will not fit the old machine.

Re: Broken S9 APAP! Now what?
Yeah, I've been using a XPAP for ... hmm ... 10 years? Never had a problem before. I'll be relocating the machine tonight, but for now it's in a room with a dehumidifier and the heater running. I do have an old machine somewhere, but we moved recently and I don't know which box it's in (plus I may n...

Re: Using CPAP While Sick
Flonase (it's OTC now in the US) and Breathe Right strips usually do the trick for me, plus pillows to prop me up.

Broken S9 APAP! Now what?
Hi, everyone--- I'm freaking out a little, so sorry if any of this doesn't make sense. My machine, a Resmed S9 Autoset, fell off of my nightstand last night. (Yes, I'll put it somewhere else in the future.) The main body is damaged and has a crack/hole in it. There was also a lot of water in the mai...

Re: Hair damage help!
I'll look into all these options. I have way too much/too long hair to just let it flow around. It'd be everywhere.
Thanks

Re: what happens when you get a cold?
Are Breathe-Right nasal strips available in Canada? They are really helpful when I have a cold! It opens things up just enough to let me breathe. I also turn up the humidifier a bit, raise my pillows, make sure I drink enough water, and take a cough suppressant at night. And realize that I'm going t...

Re: Hair damage help!
Oh, I see. My insurance pays for everything 100%, so thus far it hasn't made sense to go out of network except for once when I went to a sleep apnea consultant for help finding a better mask and etc. Apria is pretty useless at that, and insurance won't cover it. (I had years of no insurance before t...

Re: Hair damage help!
Well, I'd have to use a chinstrap if I used the nasal pillows -- I forgot what a hassle that was. However, the papcap would definitely give me a migraine :/ I just generate too much heat through my head. (and ... wait, will HealthNet play nice with cpap.com? I'd do about anything to get out from und...

Re: Hair damage help!
Hi, kaiasgram! It was the Swift ones. I used gel, but it didn't help at all. I can ask my doctor to prescribe the Aloha ones, I expect. I have narrow nostrils and sensitive skin --- everything bothers my skin, haha.

Re: Hair damage help!
Oh yes, I totally forgot to say what I do with my hair! I put it into a low loose braid every night (a ponytail makes a lump at the back of my head that I can't deal with). But the headgear still seems to strain up against my hair.
I could try making the braid higher, I guess...

Hair damage help!
I think the way the headgear on the Mirage Quattro pushes up on my hair over the night is really screwing it up. I've lost hair over the past few years, and the breakage is out of control. I'm probably going to get a lot cut off at some point, for the first time ever, but there's no point if it just...
