Help for a Patient with a Hybrid Mask
I need some help from people who use the Hybrid mask. I have a patient who has a somewhat odd face shape. She has a rounder face with a small nose. She needs a full face mask because she does mouth breath and has found no help with chinstraps. The bridge of her nose is almost set even with her eyes....

Since I do work for a DME Company I do tell my patients that they can get new tubing and filters every 3 months as needed. I stress getting filters for the obvious reasons. I do suggest a new hose but only in case they break or crack as they tend to do. I do tell them to clean the hose out weekly at...

Masks are every 3 months. Headgear, cushions are every 6 months. Filters are every 6 months for non-disposable and 2 per month for disposable. Tubing is 1 per month and I believe you can get a new machine every 5 years. There are different policies for some though. And medicare has different regions...

I have always as a child talked in my sleep. If I had a dream or any secrets to tell you could get them from me in my sleep. When I was a kid I slept with my parents often and whenever I did my mom would always end up on the couch and my dad would have bruises all over him from where I would kick an...

What do you think?
I may be bite in my butt for asking this but I do want to know. What to all of you users of CPAP's or hoseheads or whatever you may want to be called think of these 2 machines. The Respironics REMstar Plus M series and the ResMed S8 Elite? These are the two that we normally put out to our patients u...

I hope everything works out for you. I know that our office is just trying to get in some more ResMed's and they are all on back order. But for everyone who checks this forum you might want to call you DME provider if you have a smaller one...not like Apria or Lincare...because we have not been info...

Here's the thing with adjusting your own pressure. It might void out your warranty on the machine if the makers of the CPAP found out you had adjusted your pressure on your own instead of taking it in to your local DME or Dr. This is because it is something that is supposed to be done by a technicia...

Salt Water in Humidifier
I had a patient ask me about putting salt in the water in the humidifier to make the air more like the ocean air. He has a friend who does this and swears by it..claims it makes it easier to breathe. I was just wondering if any one else has tried this or even heard of it. I can't really find anythin...
