Cost of pillows
regarding the cost of these specialty pillows -- Yes, they are expensive. But the demand is small in comparison to the R&D required. In addition, they require much more time to make than a simple rectangular pillow. For example, a friend showed me the PaPpillow. Since I am extremely good at capturin...

Holding Breath
My pulmonologist says everybody has a different level of CO2 that triggers their breathing mechanism. I regularly stop breathing and always have. Part of it is having huge lungs (when I was a kid I could stay underwater for 4 minutes at a time). So, once I got the machine, I started watching. I have...

Hose Drying
Since I got my new APAP machine I've noticed more moisture collected in the air hose - probably because the pressure levels are so much lower. Instead of having to wash it once a week I was having to do it 2 or 3 times per week in order to keep it from smelling "musty". I finally decided the problem...

When I was getting ready to purchase all the equipment, my husband asked me if I had to wear that stuff every night. I said "Yes" and "This is probably going to kill our middle of the night sex." He just looked at me, perplexed, like he had no idea what I was talking about - guess it's been too long...

Thank you for the stories
Topher & DeltaSeeker, Thanks for chiming in and congratulations on your weight loss - however you achieved it! This is really very helpful and gives me the courage to ask some of the professionals locally about this. I've still got a few more weeks before I have to decide and I'll wait and see until...

mouth guard works!
Thank you SO much for this list of tips and hints. I have tried the chin strap and mouth taping, with neither working very well. I read the article on the mouthguard by freelans - the pictures were terrific - and it worked! I had allowed several hours to make the fitting and instead it only took a f...

Elle, thanks for your post. This is what I'm talking about. I have maintained a healthy diet for 3 months now and exercise everyday. I started at 312 and am down to 285. I felt I could not lose it all if I was only losing a pound per week. It wasn't going to happen, hence I started the process for l...

Thanks for the info
Thanks Shari & Snoredog.
I was afraid this was too good to be true. I may consider postponing if this weight loss keeps up at this rate. I know I've got everything in place and could re-schedule without too much delay if I wanted.

Anybody cancelled Bariatric Surgery after starting CPAP?
For the last 3 months I've been getting ready for lap-band surgery. I finished the final hoop I had to jump through on May 29th when I received my CPAP machine. Rather than wait until after the surgery I started dieting and exericising at the end of March. I work out every day - well intend to anywa...
